Chapter 41 Death Match
Chapter 41 Death Match
Of course, Qin Wei was not so angry that he completely lost his mind. He chose to take action at this point because he believed he had the ability.
The original owner of this body was definitely not simple!
He discovered this after a brief exchange with the elderly Middle Eastern man in the hospital ward, and his earlier punch that sent the red-hooded man flying further confirmed this suspicion.
Although he didn't yet know how powerful this ability was or whether it could contend with this fake bat, Qin Wei wouldn't let it slip away as long as there was even the slightest chance to retaliate.
The strong wield their swords against the stronger—this was the inspirational message he gave Oswald, and also his own life motto.
After tackling the mysterious man and taking the riding position, Qin Wei used the momentum of getting up to deliver a powerful elbow strike to the man's chest. However, the bulletproof armor was too hard, as if he had hit a solid steel plate. The mysterious man was completely unmoved, but his elbow was burning with pain.
It looks like a bone injury.
But there was no time to worry about his elbow right now. The mysterious man twisted his body from side to side, trying to break free of his restraints. If he succeeded, the advantage he had gained from the sneak attack would be completely lost.
In order not to lose the riding position, Qin Wei's best approach is to keep attacking and suppressing. Whether it works or not, it will deplete the mysterious man's stamina, leaving him exhausted and unable to retaliate.
In fact, that's exactly what Qin Wei did.
Finish the move, changing the elbow strike to a fist.
His knuckles cracked as he twisted, leaned forward, and threw a punch. The rapid, heavy punches were like two alternating wall-breaking balls, forcing the mysterious man to bend his arms to defend himself.
But the opponent was well-equipped, and those two arm guards helped him withstand most of the impact.
In contrast, Qin Wei was already a bloody mess after only a few rounds of punches.
When he felt the pain, his fist hesitated.
The mysterious man precisely seized that moment of hesitation, using a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu move to lift Qin Wei's center of gravity and escape from between his legs.
Qin Wei staggered forward, realizing something was terribly wrong. He quickly turned around, only to find the mysterious man's fist already at his feet.
He barely managed to dodge to the side, but the barbs on the bat-shaped bracers grazed the corner of his eye.
The mysterious man's fist, which had missed its target, struck the wall like a small TNT bomb, sending brick fragments and dust flying out like fireworks.
"What's up! What kind of force is that?!"
Qin Wei felt a chill run down his spine. Although the opponent was equipped with powerful gear, the power they unleashed was truly unfair. While it couldn't compare to Dr. Hugo's cyborgs, it was also unlike anything a human could possess.
Having narrowly escaped death, Qin Wei had no time to celebrate as the gushing blood obscured his vision once more.
He dared not rub it, but the mysterious man continued his relentless attack, his fists striking left and right with tremendous force, like a torrential downpour, and in the blink of an eye the alley wall was riddled with holes.
If Qin Wei is even slightly distracted, another hole will appear in his head.
What should I do?
Qin Wei dodged awkwardly, his gaze falling on the mysterious man's waist.
Bat belt?
In a flash, he had a simple idea, but even if the mysterious man wasn't Bruce Wayne, he shouldn't be a fool. Could the plan proceed smoothly?
Qin Wei shook his head to clear his mind. This was not the time to think about the success or failure of the plan; rather, being passively attacked would inevitably lead to defeat.
Thinking of this, he dodged the punch again and suddenly turned and ran out of the alley.
The mysterious man had previously used a grappling hook to pull back the fleeing Red Hood during his killing spree, and Qin Wei guessed that the man might use the same method against him.
A move used only once may be hard for an opponent to defend against, but if it is repeated, it is easy for the opponent to find a weakness.
The grappling hook is one such technique.
Qin Wei pricked up his ears and, sure enough, heard a whooshing sound behind him.
He was secretly pleased, naively believing that the other party had fallen into a trap, but he soon realized that the sound did not seem to come from the grappling hook at all.
Three batarangs were shot at him.
The batarangs flew much faster than the grappling hook, and by the time he reacted, the first dart had already pierced his back, severing his latissimus dorsi muscle.
In just a moment, Qin Wei was unable to lift his right hand.
But the real killing blows were yet to come. The second and third darts, taking advantage of the rebound from the wall, were aimed at the throat from two completely different angles.
In a life-or-death moment, he protected his head with one hand, pushed off the ground with his toes, spun around and lunged forward, narrowly escaping through the gap before the two darts collided.
The batarang, having lost its target, sparked a fleeting moment in mid-air.
Qin Wei rolled twice on the ground in a sorry state, his head hitting the edge of the trash can hard.
He had just staggered to his feet when the mysterious man launched another deadly attack.
This time, however, the grappling hook he had been longing for was being shot at.
We've been waiting for you!
Qin Wei let out a long sigh and tried to clear his mind.
This was an incredibly wise choice. He lacked combat experience, and at this moment, the "instinct" contained within this body was more reliable than his brain.
In the instant he relinquished control of his body to instinct, the hook pierced the back of his hand, while Qin Wei gripped the hook tightly in his palm.
He had noticed this as early as when he was in the riding position and throwing punches. His opponent was about the same height as him, but his build was quite different. Even with all his equipment, the mysterious man was much lighter than Qin Wei.
This means that the retracting grappling hook will not pull Qin Wei toward the mysterious man, but will instead pull the man toward him.
Unaware of the situation, the mysterious man pressed the grappling hook button. The barbs of the grappling hook pierced into the flesh of his palm. Feeling the pulling force of the grappling hook, Qin Wei squatted down, standing with his feet wide apart and his center of gravity leaning back in a tug-of-war posture.
Just as he had predicted, the mysterious man lost his footing and was pulled by the grappling hook towards Qin Wei.
"You're not Batman at all..."
Qin Wei roared, drawing his strong arm out like a drawn bow, tearing his shirt apart with the engorged muscles.
He poured all his remaining strength and all the pain and humiliation he had suffered into his left fist and slammed it hard at the fake bat.
"You counterfeit!"
The atmosphere reached a climax, and even Qin Wei was moved. In that instant, he imagined the punch as the final blow from a manga protagonist to the ultimate boss, imbued with the hopes of all the supporting characters and the expectations of the audience.
But the cold reality was like a cruel slap, leaving a clear fingerprint on his face.
Just as the fist was about to collide with the mysterious man, the man pressed a button, took off his belt, and leaned back, grazing the edge of the fist.
Taking advantage of Qin Wei's momentary lapse in concentration after finishing his move, the mysterious man dove down, grabbing his leg and circling behind him.
boom!
With his back arched backward, he lifted Qin Wei's legs and ended the deadly fight with a magnificent back throw.
The moment his back hit the ground, Qin Wei felt a tremor and dizziness in his brain, and his limbs lost all feeling. Only his internal organs were transmitting excruciating pain as if they were being shattered.
From then on, he completely lost his ability to fight.
The mysterious man struggled to his feet, leaning against the wall. Although he hadn't suffered any major injuries thanks to his equipment, he had still been locked in a fierce battle with Qin Wei for over ten minutes and had almost been killed by him with his bare hands. Right now, his adrenaline had subsided, and his muscles were soaked in acid. Signals of impending muscle rupture were being transmitted to his brain.
He was too weak to deliver the final blow.
At just the right moment, a police siren sounded at the other end of the alley.
"Quick! There are so many corpses here, let's go in and check the situation!"
A faint spark of electricity flashed across his neck, and the murderous intent surrounding the mysterious man gradually dissipated. He gave Qin Wei one last cold glare, then lifted his cloak and disappeared into the alleyway.
Qin Wei felt dizzy and his eyelids kept drooping. He didn't know when he was lifted onto a stretcher or when he was taken to the hospital. In his hazy state, he could only see Gordon's face flashing.
……
"Damn it, what kind of monster is this?!"
Gordon stood with his hands on his hips in the center of the alley, looking around. The alley was only a dozen meters long, but there were seven or eight people lying there. Apart from the seriously injured Oswald and the unconscious Qin Wei, the rest were all corpses.
The walls were riddled with holes, as if they had been plowed by bombers, and the most striking feature was a dent more than ten inches (about thirty centimeters) deep, about the size of a car tire.
Centered on it, fine, spiderweb-like cracks spread and crawled across the entire wall.
Gordon turned on his flashlight and found a bloodstained fist mark in the very center of the crater.
"That's outrageous! That was delivered with a single punch... But I remember that bat-like monster was wearing gloves, so this punch doesn't seem to be its doing."
