Chapter 34 The Ancestor of the Shi Family
Chapter 34 The Ancestor of the Shi Family
As Xiao Ming was thinking, he did hear a faint sound, which immediately alerted him, and he raised his shield in front of him.
Xiao Ming held several incineration talismans in his left hand and a burial talisman in his right.
With high-level talismans in hand, the choice between fighting and fleeing was just a matter of a single thought, which was the source of his confidence to come alone.
Walking over with a wary expression, Xiao Ming discovered several wax corpses lying on the ground. The craftsmanship of these wax corpses was quite good, and they all looked lifelike. However, these wax corpses were already dried up like bones, as if they had been drained dry.
Xiao Ming then noticed the wall behind the wax corpse, where a flying sword was stuck diagonally.
"My flying sword." Xiao Ming reached out and beckoned, and the cyan flying sword immediately flew over.
Seemingly affected by the decaying energy, the blade of the Azure Rainbow Sword was somewhat dull, but fortunately it was not damaged.
Just as Xiao Ming was celebrating his successful retrieval of the flying sword, a cold voice suddenly came from outside.
"Who dares to trespass on my master's property? Get out here right now!"
"We've been exposed?" Xiao Ming thought warily.
However, he didn't see anyone rushing in for a long time, and then he realized that Xuan Leizi and the others must have been exposed.
Without bothering to look around any longer, Xiao Ming quickly returned to the ground.
Meanwhile, on the ground, Xuan Leizi and his two companions were confronting a middle-aged man with a long beard dressed in luxurious clothes.
"Who are you? Why are you trespassing on my master's property?" The long-bearded man coldly stared at the three men. Upon hearing the voice, the servants and attendants rushed out from all directions, brandishing knives, spears, and clubs.
"Who I am is not important. What is important is why your Shi family is using this corpse-raising land to secretly raise corpses. Do you know that once these corpses become spiritual, it will be a disaster, and Shiyang Village will be littered with corpses?"
"Hmph, it's none of your business as an outsider to interfere with the people of my Shi family. Seize them!" With the long-bearded man's order, the servants immediately rushed forward with their weapons.
The burly man beside Xuan Leizi smiled and pulled out a large hammer from his back, but was stopped by the snow-white woman beside him.
"Senior brother, you're too rough. Leave these mortals to me."
"Alright... let Junior Sister handle this." Huo Tai smiled foolishly.
A glint of spiritual light appeared in Shui Jing's hand, and then she pointed at the rushing servants. Clusters of water spheres the size of heads appeared and landed steadily on the heads of these servants. No matter how much they struggled, the water spheres seemed to be stuck to their heads, making it impossible for them to breathe.
The woman only lifted the spell after everyone had knelt on the ground, their faces turning purple.
"This is magic, they are immortals..." The mortals lying on the ground finally realized.
Instead of being afraid, they knelt down as if they had seen saviors and kowtowed to the three men.
"Immortal, save me! We were forced into this situation."
"Please spare me, immortal! I was forced to do this by the master."
······
Looking at the servants kneeling and kowtowing, the long-bearded man's face turned pale.
"A bunch of useless bastards, if that's how you are, then you can all die." The long-bearded man took out a fist-sized copper bell from his pocket, shook it, and muttered incantations.
"The three souls depart from the yang realm, the seven spirits gather in the yin realm, emerging from the netherworld and entering the underworld, heed my command!"
As the bells rang louder, dark figures darted out of the house, grabbing the servants on the ground and biting them. Anyone bitten instantly turned into a dried-up corpse at a visible speed.
These are naturally zombies that have already been raised in this zombie-raising ground. Although they are only the weakest purple zombies, they are numerous.
"Demon, stop harming people!" Seeing the zombies injuring people, Xuan Leizi was furious and summoned a copper coin sword, piercing through three zombies in succession.
Huo Tai chuckled and swung a massive hammer as thick as his thigh. He was incredibly strong and channeled his magic power, causing flames to erupt around the hammer. The zombie was struck by the hammer, its chest caved in, and most of its bones were shattered. It collapsed to the ground, unable to get up again.
These zombies are just newly cultivated purple zombies. Even a martial arts master could handle one or two of them, let alone a true cultivator.
Shui Jing leisurely took out a handful of talismans, infused them with magic power, and threw them. The talismans shot out quickly and stuck to the head of a zombie. The zombie was immediately frozen in place and then smashed into a pulp by Huo Tai with a hammer.
Holding a talisman, she moved freely among the zombies, heading directly towards the hiding head of the Shi family.
"Don't come any closer!" The head of the Shi family shook the bell in terror, trying to control the zombies to block him. However, how could a mortal controlling a few zombies possibly stop a cultivator?
Shui Jing threw out all the talismans, easily controlling all the zombies. Then she quickly moved closer, snatched the bell, and kicked the head of the Shi family to the ground.
Ring ring~
As Shui Jing rang the bell, all the zombies immediately froze in place.
"Well done, Shui Jing." Xuan Leizi withdrew his spell, while Huo Tai, who was standing to the side, seemed to have not had enough of smashing. He swung his sledgehammer and smashed a few more zombies before stopping with a silly grin.
"Master, senior brother, we've struck it rich! This bell isn't some fake trick by a charlatan; it's a genuine low-grade magic artifact." Shui Jing was excitedly examining the bell artifact in her hand when she heard the long-bearded man at her feet wailing for help.
"Ancestor, save me!"
"Ancestor?" Xuan Leizi's expression changed.
"Shui Jing, come here quickly."
No sooner had Xuan Leizi finished speaking than a hand covered in green hair grabbed Shui Jing's beating heart from her chest.
"Heh heh, my things are not so easy to take." A disheveled, desiccated corpse appeared and threw Shui Jing away like trash. The emaciated figure then stuffed the beating heart into its mouth.
"Tsk tsk, the blood and qi of cultivators are delicious." After eating this heart, the dried corpse's skin finally regained some life.
"Junior Sister!" Huo Tai shouted angrily, and like a madman, he swung his sledgehammer and charged out without regard for anything.
"Huo Tai, come back!" Xuan Lei Zi shouted, but the burly man had already gone mad and was no longer caring.
"Revenge... I'll kill you."
As all his magical power surged into it, the hammer immediately burst into flames, its body glowing red-hot.
However, the dried corpse was not afraid at all. It simply raised its hand and caught the hammer with its bare hand.
sizzle~
The flames scorched the desiccated corpse's hands, but he merely frowned slightly before laughing. "Not bad, you have some strength, but you're still far from it."
The dried corpse grabbed the hammer handle at the joint of the hammer with its other hand, pulled Huo Tai in front of it, and then kicked him out.
Huo Tai was sent flying backward like an arrow, crashing into the wall and burying himself underneath, his fate unknown.
The dried corpse didn't even glance at it, instead turning its gaze to the room on the other side.
"Fellow Daoist who was hiding in the shadows, now that you're here, please come out and meet us."
The dried corpse finished speaking, but no one responded.
"Hmph, how long do you intend to hide, fellow Daoist? After I cultivated this Yin Demon Corpse, I became extremely sensitive to the blood and qi of the living. As long as you remain in this Shi family, you cannot escape my senses." The dried corpse turned around and said with a cold snort.
Xiao Ming's figure slowly emerged from the darkness.
"I see. There are countless techniques in the cultivation world. I've certainly learned something new today."
