Chapter 45 Special Moment
Chapter 45 Special Moment
puff!
After figuring out why she had been exposed, Chen Qing flicked her wrist, and a scalpel flew out, piercing the white-haired man's forehead.
This white-haired man is too troublesome. Although he is not as strong as me, continuing to entangle him will inevitably cause other casualties.
Chen Qing first took off his white coat and placed it on the ground along with the medical sample transport box. Then he took off the white-haired man's clothes and wrapped them around the man's bleeding head. He then carried the man into the fire escape, went down to the underground equipment floor, and threw the white-haired man's body in there.
I took off my clothes to check, and there were still a few places stained with blood. I used a scalpel to cut off the bloody parts. Anyway, I'll put on a white coat later, and the holes inside won't be visible.
After going outside, he put on his white coat, picked up the medical sample transport box, and continued walking uphill.
Upon reaching the third floor, after exiting the stairs, one enters a long corridor. Blue signs hang from the ceiling, labeled with the names of various departments in both Chinese and English. The arrow pointing to the organ bank clearly indicates the depths of the corridor on the right.
Chen Qing followed the directional arrows and walked deeper into the area. The crowds thinned out, and the usual waiting chairs and posters disappeared, replaced by clean walls and access control for the internal medicine area that required a card swipe to enter.
Following the directional arrow, he turned left again and stopped in front of a heavy, enclosed metal door. The door had no windows, and the door frame was sealed with rubber strips to ensure airtightness and temperature stability.
"Organ Bank - No Entry Without Permission." The large characters on the door exuded a solemn and dignified air.
Next to the door is an advanced multi-functional card reader with a fingerprint scanner and numeric keypad. There is no door handle, meaning it can only be opened electronically.
"Open the door." Chen Qing pressed her finger against the earpiece in her ear.
"Give me two minutes," Xiao Zhao's voice rang out, followed by the clatter of keys on the keyboard.
Half a minute later, a "click" sound came from inside the door as the airtight lock was released, and the door slightly opened a crack.
Chen Qing placed the medical sample transport box at the door, pushed the door open, and was immediately hit by a strong blast of cold air; the temperature was significantly lower than in the corridor.
The most striking feature is a row of stainless steel organ preservation refrigerators arranged along the wall, resembling giant metal safes, each with a digital temperature display and intricate labels on its doors.
In the center of the room was a stainless steel workbench, above which was a shadowless lamp. Next to the workbench were organ transport boxes and a series of verification equipment such as electronic balances and microscopes.
There were two people inside, both wearing white coats and masks. One was a fat man sitting in front of a computer, while the other, thinner, stood next to the control panel with his hands in his pockets and wearing blue-rimmed glasses.
The two of them looked up at Chen Qing together.
"Hasn't the heart arrived yet? The fifth operating room is calling again," Chen Qing said.
"Half an hour," said the man with the blue-rimmed glasses after glancing at his watch.
"Director Wang Wei has already prepared the anesthesia, and you're telling me the heart won't arrive for another half hour?"
"If he's in a hurry, he can call the delivery truck driver himself."
Chen Qing went out first.
The delivery truck hadn't arrived yet, and the heart hadn't come in either. He was mainly going in to check out the environment inside.
Actually, there were surveillance cameras in the organ bank, so it wouldn't have been a problem for Xiao Zhao to hack in. However, the cameras "just happened" to be broken today.
"Brother Qing, the delivery truck has arrived." After waiting in the stairwell for about five minutes, Li Mengfei's voice came through the earpiece.
Chen Qing leaned against the wall and stood in front of the stairwell door. Looking out through the glass in the door, after three doctors in white coats and fifteen patients walked past him, he saw a person carrying an organ transport box walk by.
Chen Qing pushed open the door at the top of the stairs and entered the corridor, following the person at a distance.
After everyone entered, he immediately moved close to the door, and soon a crisp "click" sound was heard, indicating that the mechanical latch of the organ transport box had been opened.
"Open the door." Chen Qing took out the fake serum, tucked it into his sleeve, and gave the order to Xiao Zhao.
Upon entering, Chen Qing saw that the transfer box on the stainless steel operating table in the center of the room had been opened, and the heart and the azure serum test tube were right there on the table!
The fat man who was already in the organ bank and the person who had just gone in to donate a heart were processing the signing and document handover procedures.
A man wearing blue-rimmed glasses was standing not far from the workbench, bending down to pick up a medical sample transport box, seemingly intending to put serum into it.
Hearing the voice of the person who had arrived, he straightened up.
"Is that the heart?" Chen Qing strode towards the operating table. "Director Wang Wei sent me again to urge them! The patient in the fifth operating room is already anesthetized..."
"Is that the heart?!" Before she could finish speaking, the door was pushed open again, and a doctor in a white coat stormed in, his voice so loud it could be heard halfway through the building: "Why didn't anyone notify me, the attending surgeon, to come for the verification?!"
"Mr. Chen, I'm sorry, I just went to get a bottle of water. I didn't expect that other people would go in." Xiao Zhao's apologetic voice came through the earpiece. He was responsible for monitoring the hospital's surveillance cameras, but now that someone had gone to the organ bank, he hadn't notified Chen Qing in time.
Chen Qing didn't say anything. It was Xiao Zhao's first time doing something like this, so it was inevitable that he would make mistakes.
The two men in the organ bank looked at Wang Wei, then at Chen Qing. The fat man spoke up, "Director Wang, didn't you send him to urge them?"
"Who is he?" Wang Wei glanced at Chen Qing, then angrily questioned, "Why wasn't the heart sent to my operating room for verification, but instead brought here?! Organ verification requires a coordinator to handle the process, an administrator to verify the information, and a surgeon to assess the quality. All three are indispensable. Have you all forgotten the process?!"
"I could have just quietly taken the things and left without hurting anyone. Why did you have to barge in?" The man with the blue-rimmed glasses shook his head, looking helpless, then pulled out a gun and pointed it at Director Wang Wei. "Shut up."
"Trying to scare people with a fake gun?" Director Wang Wei was not afraid at all.
A flash of white light, and a scalpel was nailed to the hand of the man with blue-rimmed glasses.
It was naturally Chen Qing who made the move. Director Wang Wei might doubt the authenticity of the gun, but he wouldn't.
Since replacing the serum is no longer possible, we'll settle for taking it instead.
Ignoring the reactions of the others in the organ bank, Chen Qing took the serum from the operating table and left the organ bank.
Chen Qing walked down the stairs to the first floor, carrying a medical sample transport box, and left the hospital.
"Brother Qing, are you alright? I heard screams." Li Mengfei got out of the car and went to greet Chen Qing when she saw him from afar.
"I'm fine, it's someone else who's screaming." As soon as she finished speaking, Chen Qing started to feel dizzy again.
He quickly pulled out his phone, and before the intense white light robbed him of his senses, he saw the time on the phone: 10:43.
