Chapter 471 Accidentally Entering the Imperial Family
Chapter 471 Accidentally Entering the Imperial Family
Lin Feng's voice was laced with a helpless wail: "She's just a guest! Don't talk nonsense!"
Tang Xiaorui completely ignored him, stroking her chin thoughtfully:
"But... I think she's pretty good too."
She looked at Lin Feng seriously and made the suggestion in a very earnest manner.
"Honey, why don't you just take us in? Anyway, all six of us are weirdos, and it's too oppressive for you. Having a human would be a good way to balance things out—"
"Xiaorui!" Tang Xiaofu finally couldn't take it anymore. She tugged at her sister's sleeve, her voice not loud but heavy, "You're talking nonsense again!"
Tang Xiaorui stuck out her tongue.
Tang Xiaofu sighed helplessly, turned around and gave Evelyn a slight bow:
"Sorry, that's just how my sister is, she doesn't always talk seriously, please don't take it to heart."
Evelyn maintained a smile throughout, and shook her head at Tang Xiaofu:
"It's okay, she's very interesting, naturally genuine, and that's rare."
Lin Feng coughed twice and waved his arm towards the gate of the mansion:
"Um... come inside! Don't just stand outside, it's so sunny!"
........................
Vassim and Evelyn followed Lin Feng across the threshold, and almost simultaneously, both of them stopped in their tracks.
The living room has a ceiling height of nearly ten meters, with a giant crystal chandelier hanging down from the dome. Countless crystal shards refract tiny rays of light, casting a flowing halo on the off-white walls.
Directly opposite the main entrance is a curved main staircase, extending symmetrically on both sides, with several large oil paintings hanging between the columns—
It's not one of those mass-produced decorative paintings, but an authentic work with delicate brushstrokes and distinct color layers.
Evelyn's gaze lingered on one of the paintings for two seconds, recognizing it as a landscape by a European master.
Wasim's reaction was much more straightforward.
He tilted his head back, his eyes wide open, his mouth slightly agape, his gaze shifting from the chandelier to the oil painting, and then from the painting to the marble floor beneath his feet, which could be used as a mirror.
"My God..." Vassim murmured, "This floor... is it marble? A single piece? No seams?"
Lin Feng chuckled and patted him on the shoulder: "Brother, asking some questions is just asking for trouble—just think of it as magic, and as long as you're comfortable, that's all that matters."
Wasim paused for a moment, scratched the back of his head, and grinned:
"Indeed, don't you have enough amazing stories about you? One more won't make a difference."
Evelyn stood in the center of the foyer, tilting her head slightly upwards to gaze at the murals on the dome—
It was a hand-painted ceiling painting, with delicate and exquisite brushstrokes depicting clouds and angels, and gilded lines along the edges that gleamed subtly under the light.
The light and shadow of the mural were reflected in her icy blue eyes, and her lips moved slightly as she uttered a sentence in English:
"Good Lord… that's magnificent!"
Her voice was very soft, as if she were afraid of disturbing the tranquility of the mansion.
Hearing her praise, Lin Feng smiled and walked over: "What, you like it?"
Evelyn looked away, then at him, a smile curving her lips: "Lin Feng, this living room alone could buy an entire building in central London."
Lin Feng smiled somewhat embarrassedly: "That's an exaggeration, that's an exaggeration."
As Lin Feng spoke, he walked towards the curved staircase. "The guest rooms on the third floor are ready for you. Take a look and see if you're satisfied."
The third-floor corridor is covered with a dark gray, silent carpet that feels like walking on clouds, making absolutely no sound.
Laifu led the three to two doors and opened them.
The rooms are identical in size, but the color schemes are slightly different:
The room is decorated mainly in off-white and light gray, and is simple and clean.
The other room used more wood elements and warm colors, making it feel more cozy.
But every single one of them was ridiculously large.
Wasim stood at the doorway of his room, looking at the large bed that he estimated to be two and a half meters wide, at the new vase of flowers on the bedside table, and at the private balcony outside the floor-to-ceiling window that offered a direct view of the sea…
His expression could no longer be described as "shocked"; it was a dazed feeling somewhere between "I'm dreaming" and "I don't want to wake up."
"This...this is a guest room?" His voice trembled slightly.
Evelyn stood by her own window, gently parting the sheer curtains with her fingers, her gaze falling on the view outside—
The sea shimmered in the distance, while in the nearby garden, a white trellis was covered with climbing roses, their branches swaying gently in the breeze.
She was silent for a few seconds, then turned to look at Lin Feng, her icy blue eyes appearing exceptionally clear in the sunlight.
"Lin Feng".
"Um?"
Evelyn looked at him for two seconds:
"The S-class monsters are all arrogant and haughty, but when they come to you, they are all willing to have your children."
"I used to think you were just handsome and capable, but now I understand—money is the real superpower."
Lin Feng straightened his back and pretended to be serious: "Let me correct you, it's handsome, capable, and wealthy—a perfect combination, none of which can be missing."
Evelyn curled her lips into a smile, turned and walked into the room, pushing open the door to the walk-in closet.
Dozens of outfits were neatly hung inside—trench coats, suits, dresses, shirts… From style to size, each piece seemed tailor-made for her.
Her gaze swept across the rows of clothes racks, then suddenly stopped.
On the innermost hanging rod in the dressing room, a wine-red cheongsam hung quietly.
With its lace detailing and ridiculously high side slits, it's less like a cheongsam and more like an impromptu creation of a few pieces of tulle.
Evelyn's ears turned bright red.
Lai Fu had already flashed behind her without her noticing, his movements as fast as a blur.
He snatched the cheongsam from the hanger, crumpled it up, and hid it behind his back, his voice still steady:
"I'm very sorry, Miss Evelyn. This was meant for Mrs. Xia's room; the system misclassified it."
After saying that, he lowered his head, clutched the wad of wine-red fabric, and quickly left the room.
An awkward silence lingered in the air.
Lin Feng unconsciously touched his nose with one hand, unsure of where to look.
Evelyn raised her hand to tuck a stray strand of hair behind her ear, turned her head to look at Lin Feng. The blush on her face had not completely faded, but the corners of her mouth had already curved up.
"This walk-in closet is nice, I really like it."
At that moment, Wasim peeked out from the next room, his eyes sparkling:
"Brother Lin Feng! Look at my bathroom! That bathtub is huge! It feels like three of us could lie down in it!"
Lin Feng: "..."
Evelyn: "..."
Wasim realized what he had said and slapped his forehead hard:
"No, no, that's not what I meant! I was just using an example!"
