20 Big Trucks in the Middle of the Street

20 big trucks in the middle of the street by Mark Lee
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Category: Hardcover

Age: 1-6+ years

Synopsis: In this delightful counting book, an ice cream truck breaks down, resulting in a traffic jam of twenty big trucks in the downtown of a middle America town. An ingenious little boy on a bicycle comes to the rescue.

Bilingual benefit: This book works well in teaching vehicle lovers how to count. The language rhymes well, although there are a few instances in which adjectives are used instead of adverbs in order to complete the rhymes. This story would delight a child interested in trucks and anyone living abroad who is longing for a middle America town. The illustrations have a Norman Rockwell-esque quality and there is even a cameo by an Alfred Hitchcock lookalike. (See if you can spot him!)

Availability in Israel: While this book is not readily available in Israel, it can be ordered online via Amazon.

Previewing the book: This book can be previewed on Amazon USA. (last checked 7/10/2014).

Lil guy: Trucks = fun.

Mama: I would buy this again and for a friend, especially a truck lover.
