"Battlefield?" Morgan chewed on the word.
In the quiet and empty space, her and Xijian's voices, though not loud, were made all the more clear.
There was no echo.
The sounds of conversation spread outwards, faded into the distance, and finally disappeared without a trace.
"At the very least, it should be a battlefield."
tide Jian stopped in her tracks.
They had arrived in front of the object that had originally stood on the horizon.
A giant stone angel statue with twelve wings behind it.
Half angel wings, half demon bat wings.
Each occupies one side of the back, facing each other.
“This is…” Morgan vaguely guessed the answer.
“The remains of the Great Demon King Lucifer.” Xi Jian reached out and touched the remains. “It’s completely empty shell now. Its power and soul are gone.”
"So this place is actually—"
As Morgan was speaking, she saw Shiomi's fingertips touch the petrified remains.
Then, the stone statue, which was several people tall, collapsed with a roar and turned into fine dust.
Even though there was no wind, it was still drifting in all directions.
"What exactly is it?" Shio asked slowly. "This is the end of heaven and earth, the other side of the horizon of cause and effect, a boundary that humans can never reach."
“That’s right.” A third voice rang out.
Morgan slowly raised his eyes and looked at the area that should have been behind Lucifer's remains.
A man appeared there.
Goetia still maintains his Magic King persona.
“It seems my husband has misspoke.” Morgan raised his hand, ready to act at any moment. “It seems that as a faithful believer, the Demon King is going to stand in front of us personally and settle things with us on behalf of his master.”
"No."
This time, a gentle and compassionate female voice sounded from behind.
tide Jian turned her head slightly and looked back. Standing in the light was a woman, or rather, a monk.
"Who are you?" tide Jian was slightly surprised.
The female monk, leaning on her staff, raised her palm in a slight bow: "I am Xuanzang Sanzang. Guided by the Buddha, I stand here as the final witness in the name of the Sandalwood Merit Buddha. I share the same stance as His Excellency the Magic King over there."
“A witness?” Morgan raised an eyebrow. “I see.”
Having come this far, the new god born for the planet and humanity has arrived here after thwarting Chaldea's plans.
The result is already clear.
“The three thousand great worlds, that is, this universe, are all Buddha lands,” Shio said. “However, the universe itself also has a will, or rather, a restraining force that exists for the overall continuation of the universe.”
"Hmm." The monk Sanzang nodded gently, his tone amiable. "Having reached this point, you two must already know what kind of being the Lord of the Magic King's Faith is."
“So, the original balance eventually returned to its original course,” Shio said. “YHWH intended to dominate the restraining force of the universe, but could not ignore the existence of Buddha. The burning and whitewashing of human reason that occurred on Earth were dominoes pushed over to break the balance.”
“The Lord only showed me zero mercy, and showed me not only the future of planets and humanity, but also the future of the universe,” Goetia said calmly. “However, your existence is something that even the Lord cannot reveal.”
“Because explicitly stating it would break the original rules,” said the Tripitaka Master. “The Buddha’s opinion on who controls the will of the universe is irrelevant. If the universe as a whole has no objection to this, it will naturally not stop it. If it leads to a series of destructions, it is simply a tribulation that this universe needs to go through.”
"Even if we seize all the energy from the universe just to continue the plan of humanity, is it still just a calamity?" tide Jian asked.
“It is a calamity for humanity, so it can only be solved from a human perspective,” said the Tripitaka Master. “You did not abandon your human perspective until the very end, fulfilling the expectations that Goddess Nuwa had for you, which is truly commendable.”
“The gods in various mythologies throughout pan-human history all loved humanity in different ways, which is why they allowed someone like you to be born and gradually ascend to the throne of God,” Goetia said. “So, in the end, all of this was bound to fall apart.”
“Amitabha.” The Tripitaka Master smiled gently and spoke slowly, “Cause is the cause, and effect is the result. From the moment certain seeds are planted, it is destined that there will be corresponding effects.”
Chapter Twenty: The Light Illuminating the Future
“I have no interest in your theories of cause and effect,” Goetia said calmly. “I am here only because I lost to this man and his companions at the Temple of Time, and even lost the Ten Commandments and the graces given to me by the Lord.”
"Are you harboring resentment and planning to take revenge here?" tide Jian asked with a smile.
“Boring speculation.” Goetia said dismissively. “As I just said, both I and the monks over there are just here to witness this outcome.”
Shiomi crossed her arms: "Just to witness? With your clairvoyant ability to see the past and future, you should know what I'm going to do."
"Let the mystery of the planet fade away completely, freeing humanity from mystery, so that, in a more sound manner, guided by science, we can leave the cradle called the planet and set off for the sea of stars," Goetia stated the facts casually.
“My husband is going to uproot everything that your master Solomon created,” Morgan said. “A thousand years from now, there will be no more magicians or churches on this land. Magic and miracles will become legends on paper, sealed away in books.”
“So what?” Goetia said. “If you believe that happiness lies in the endless cycle of death and birth, in being bound by a short life, then so be it.”
Existing boundary record tapes will not disappear.
The spirits already inscribed on the throne will not disappear.
Of course, the gods who already exist still exist, still looking down upon that tiny planet in the universe.
There may be other planets with life where similar situations occur, but that has nothing to do with Goetia or YHWH.
Once it leaves Earth as its anchor point, YHWH will revert to its essence as a cosmic restraining force, rather than existing as both part and whole simultaneously.
However, the mysterious decline does not mean the disappearance of faith. Earth, as an anchor point, will continue to exist as pan-human history continues to flourish.
The only difference is that the seeds YHWH dropped will no longer sprout new roots.
"So the choice is to completely erase the mystery from the planet?" The Tripitaka Master slowly stepped forward. "And not in a hasty and crude manner, but to leave a thousand years for those who are still exploring the mystery to accept the decline."
"This is the direction my husband intends to continue writing... no, for the planetary navigation chart he has chosen." Morgan declared quietly, "In the name of the paradise fairy born in the inner sea of the star, I join hands with my husband to accomplish all of this together."
“That’s a good choice too.” The monk smiled knowingly. “Perhaps you’ve fought all this way just to prevent humanity from being stigmatized, but you have indeed protected many lives in this universe that have yet to meet humanity.”
In his words, the Tripitaka Master did not hesitate to praise Shio's compassion.
Even though Xijian didn't think it was an act of mercy, he was just doing what he could and should do.
"In the end, I'm just an ordinary person. I can't accept that I and the important people around me are burdened with a stigma that I didn't cause." tide Jian shook her head.
The Tripitaka Master shook his head: "It's truly a pity. Logically speaking, to become a god, even ignoring the favor of the Goddess Nuwa, you possess extraordinary comprehension."
"Let's forget about persuading my husband to convert to Buddhism," Morgan said, unable to suppress a smile. "For my husband, the seven emotions and six desires are far more beautiful than the four elements of detachment. This is also something that allows my husband to still retain his humanity."
"Lay disciples are also acceptable." The Tripitaka Master was still preaching.
The overly relaxed and free atmosphere left tide Jian speechless. He had never met any eminent monks and didn't really understand the temperament of people in the Buddhist community.
Fortunately, monks do not lie, but they also know that things cannot be forced.
Since tide Jian had no intention of converting to Buddhism, the Tripitaka Master wisely left it at that.
Then, the Tripitaka Master slowly retreated, the nine-ringed staff in his hand making a crisp sound, and finally stood at the other end, about the same distance from Gethia.
Morgan and Shiomi looked to either side, realizing that they were there to bear witness. If Shiomi hadn't spoken up, Getia probably wouldn't have said a word.
The Tripitaka Master took the initiative to chat for a few more minutes.
“It’s about time. It’s not good to keep everyone waiting any longer.” tide Jian squatted down, picked up a wisp of sand, and slowly sprinkled it between her fingers.
“Those who can’t perceive changes in time and space won’t actually feel like they’re waiting long.” Morgan gently stroked Shio’s back, softly reassuring him not to worry.
Shiomi nodded deeply, his gaze sweeping over Getia and then over the Sanzang Master.
Finally, withdraw your gaze and raise your voice:
"Although it differs from my original intention, I am very grateful to the two of you for being here as witnesses, to witness the opening of the next era for humanity."
Regardless of whether it was Goetia, as an enemy.
This applies whether it's as a first meeting with the Tripitaka Master.
“Hmph…” Goetia simply turned away with a cold face, then, as if remembering something, said, “For now, please convey my message to that man who is hiding in a human body and has given up his identity as the Magic King… let him enjoy his life as a mortal.”
It sounded displeased, yet it carried a certain blessing.
Goetia clearly knew something.
This left Shio-mi feeling quite helpless.
“For his sake, I will pass on that message,” Shiomi said.
Perhaps seeing that Gethia had said his final words as farewell, the Tripitaka Master thought for a moment and then added a sentence.
"At the singularity of Camelot, I originally intended to help Chaldea, but it seems there is no need for me to intervene. I will simply follow the Buddha's teachings and watch your battle from afar until it ends," the Tripitaka Master said with a hint of apology.
Morgan seemed somewhat taken aback, and Shiomi didn't know what to say either, taking a while to finally respond:
"Uh, okay. Please don't worry about it."
After saying this, Shiomi turned around and clasped hands with Morgan.
Light began to envelop the area.
“To put the ‘fabric’ that was originally replaced on the celestial sphere back onto the planet, we still need Mooncell,” Shiomi said.
“Everything is ready, isn’t it?” Morgan said.
"What remains is our shared will." Shiomi looked into Morgan's eyes. "From here onwards lies the world I promised you. Let's set off."
"Ah."
Morgan looked into his eyes and responded softly.
Endless light enveloped the area, eventually completely covering even the figures of the two people.
The Demon King and the Sandalwood Merit Buddha also faded away in the light.
A new world full of infinite possibilities is also the original world.
They are waiting for them.
baFinal Chapter·Part 1
London, March 2018, Clock Tower.
Olga Marie Animusfia, who had just finished the plenary meeting of the Department of Astrophysics, breathed a slight sigh of relief as she walked through the wide corridor of the clock tower.
Grey was by her side, there to protect her.
“Thank you for your hard work, Director Olga Marie,” Grey said.
“I’m not the director anymore,” Olga Marie said with a smile. “Just call me Marie, like you would a teacher.”
"Hmm..." Grey wasn't quite used to being addressed like that yet. "Are we going to be staying in London for a long time?"
“There’s no other way, after all, it involves the future of the Astronomy Department,” Olga Marie said. “Even if we were to hand over the throne to the Wodim family, just integrating the voices from Animusfia would have been a huge undertaking.”
“But Shiomi-sensei also said before that now is the best time, right?” Grey said.
“That’s true.” Olga Marie sighed.
Three months ago, the heinous incident of human bleaching ended, and the Chaldea Observatory in Antarctica returned to its state before the attack by the alien apostles and the hidden ones, awaiting the entry of the investigation teams from the Magic Association, the Church of Christ, and the United Nations.
Whether it's the Earth being wiped clean or the casualties on January 1, 2018, everything will be reset to zero.
It was as if they had only experienced the burning of human reason.
Nobody remembers this.
Except for everyone on Storm Border.
When they came to their senses after disappearing from Singularity F, they found that everything had returned to its original state.
Another kind of "re-editing of human principles".
The disrupted history will be reorganized, the evils caused by Chaldea will be removed, only the important parts will be retained, and the history will be re-examined and maintained.
Kirshtalia and his companions awoke from the freezing of the basket as usual.
Chaldea received the association and church personnel and began to face complex scrutiny.
However, with El-Melloi's assistance and the support of the democrats, Chaldea's problems were not serious.
However, after Olga Marie publicly revealed that she had lost her inherited mark, the Legal Affairs Department attempted to remove Animusfia from the monarchy and tried to install its own magician family to take over.
However, even with all these complexities, which Olga Marie found exhausting to deal with, the Department of Law and Politics... or rather, Barthezmello, who was in charge of the Department of Law and Politics, became history in the Clock Tower overnight.
The most noble family in the magician world was wiped out overnight, and all the magicians who had even a little bit of Bartholomew blood died tragically.
