"The Cosmic Forces that recently visited Earth include the Celestials," but the mutants have successfully persuaded them to retreat.
In the medical center of Avengers Tower, most of the Avengers were gathered together. "Iron Man" looked at Jarvis's analysis and spoke to everyone.
"Thor, Tony," Captain America began, "I require you to conduct reconnaissance on both personal and interstellar satellites, tracing back the trajectory of Nova's journey to Earth."
"Dr. Banner, I need you to conduct a deeper study and analysis of this residual energy to determine what it symbolizes."
Connors watched as Captain America methodically issued commands, while Iron Man winked at Connors, as if he had something to whisper.
The two quietly retreated to a secluded corner, and "Iron Man" Stark whispered:
"Brother, you're not a mutant, are you?"
Connors asked in confusion:
Why do you say that?
"Those mutants are all suffering from severe paranoia. They would never openly fly over New York to stop the plane crash like you did. They would only try to make amends when something actually happens."
Iron Man seems to be a hater of mutants. Connors looked at him with amusement:
"That question doesn't seem that important, does it? The most urgent thing right now is to figure out why the Nova traveled across the stars to Earth to warn us."
“No, this is important,” Iron Man Stark whispered, leaning closer to Connors. “I want to ask you something about Phoenix.”
As clever as Iron Man is, he has already placed his suspicions on the Phoenix Force.
"We have been paying close attention to this energy signature ever since Jean Grey nearly destroyed the world, and now I am 90 percent certain that the energy remaining on Nova is related to Phoenix."
As "Iron Man" spoke, he had already traced the flight path of "Nova" via interstellar satellites. The artificial intelligence Jarvis performed frantic calculations and finally concluded:
"I've done the calculations in more than fifty different ways, and I can basically conclude that it's a 'phoenix,' and that it's heading towards Earth right now."
"I thought it would take the Avengers a while to realize the Phoenix's presence," Connors said, looking at Iron Man with some surprise.
This astonishment surprised Iron Man somewhat, but he quickly realized something:
"Oh right, I forgot you're a new mutant, so you might not know much about Phoenix." What does that mean?
He looked Connors up and down, noting his unremarkable trench coat, and combined this with Connors's courageous act of trying to prevent the plane crash, he no longer doubted that Connors was a "newcomer."
"Every new hero starts out with this kind of enthusiasm, but they soon encounter all sorts of hardships and obstacles—"
"If you encounter any difficulties, feel free to come to me anytime. Also, I think you should have a suit of armor made to match your identity."
Connors quickly refused, and in just a few words, "Iron Man" was already planning out the rest of his life.
Seeing that Connors refused, "Iron Man" did not insist:
"Let me reintroduce it to you. The Phoenix Force is a destructive, dependent, and cosmically-scale massive energy that must reside within a living being."
"Sounds pretty good, even very tempting, right? Possessing this ability puts you above 90% of the world's superheroes."
"It's really good." Connors nodded, but this ability was dispensable to him.
But Iron Man was startled by Connors's nodding approval. Fearing that this "newcomer" might have some ideas, such as controlling the Phoenix Force, he quickly said:
"But this ability is not without its price. Once it has finished its host life, it will use the host's body to burn everything around it to ashes and will continue to surround you."
"This means you can no longer live like a normal person—entertainment, beer, donuts, hooking up with female celebrities—all of that will be a thing of the past, and no one will be able to get close to you," Connors said, interrupting Iron Man's continued barrage of words. "Don't worry, I'm not interested in Phoenix."
Captain America's team is arranging for a group of Avengers to board interstellar travel aircraft in an attempt to intercept and destroy the Phoenix before it reaches Earth.
Then, Captain America Rogers, shield in hand, walked confidently to Connors and Iron Man, who had been talking for a while in the corner, and extended a hand to Connors:
"Hello, I'm Steve Rogers, and you're the locksmith, Connors? You've saved over three hundred families, well done."
This guy was relatively friendly to Connors, mainly thanks to Connors' actions in protecting the more than 300 passengers on the plane.
You can't hit someone who's smiling, and Connors still needed this "Captain America" to play his role, so he reached out and shook hands with him firmly.
"Wow, that's pretty strong." Captain America said with some surprise as he released his grip. "I thought your abilities had nothing to do with physical strength, but it seems I was wrong."
"I'll arm wrestle with you another time. I came here to prevent a disaster from happening, but now that it's safe, I have to go."
After Connors finished speaking, he prepared to leave, but was stopped by Captain America:
"I suggest you stay here, or simply join the Avengers—it's not unprecedented for mutants to join the Avengers, like Scarlet Witch Wanda."
This world also has a "Scarlet Witch" named Wanda, who caused mutants to become an endangered species before Connors arrived. Connors had previously overlooked her, but upon hearing "Captain America" mention her, he asked:
"Where is she?"
"She's gone. She vanished after taking away the powers of 99 percent of all mutants in the world. Nobody knows where she went," Iron Man said.
Connors glanced subconsciously at the "JS" ring on his hand, which contained the mysterious house where a mindless "Scarlet Witch" was located.
Furthermore, this "Scarlet Witch," like Wanda in this world where mutants and Avengers are all gathered, disappeared from her own universe after saying "there are no more mutants/zombies in the world."
"Thank you for your kind offer, but I have no intention of joining the Avengers."
Connors rejected Captain America, and Iron Man stopped Captain America from continuing to stop him.
"Let him go. I feel he's different from those old-fashioned mutants. Although he's a mutant, his way of doing things is just like ours, the Avengers."
