“You are very clever, and also very cunning,” the sage said. “Just like him.”
Jin extended his main limb, upon which a floating quantum rune flickered. He handed it to Buz.
“This is the key to controlling the entire fleet,” Kim said, “including Faos.”
Booz frowned, turning his head to stare at the unconscious, bleeding Kirkland. "He..."
“:P This is our past grudge,” Jin said, sticking out a string of tongues. “I won. After that, in any collaboration involving Hades, I am his boss and he is my slave.”
"I'm so glad you won, it's really great news."
"And you trust me that much? — You know what I might do," Booth retorted.
“You are you, and he is he,” Kim said calmly. “I know that very well, and I know it better than anyone else.”
"You may be afraid, and I may be afraid too. This is normal and logical. Genetically speaking, you may be more suppressed."
Kim continued, “But I trust Karas’s judgment; he doesn’t trust others easily.”
Booz's eyes widened slightly. "This really surprises me..." he said. "I thought Karas just didn't like me..."
“I have said it before,” King said, “that the past ten thousand years have been more than enough to repay his kindness, Buzz. I am your creator, and I am glad that I created you.”
“Go save more people, Buzz Bella, don’t be fooled by him.”
Booz took a deep breath, carefully put away the key, and a triumphant smile spread across his face.
“King, you’re being too optimistic,” he said. “Although Phaos has a lot of ships, we can’t penetrate into Octarius with our current forces. At best, we can only defend this area.”
Jin slowly straightened up. "We'll have to play it by ear," the Great Sage said. "I have a feeling that the army of the Bonecrushers is here to find Hades. They just defeated a necromantic world—this is not a good thing. If we go any deeper, we will definitely run into them."
"...As for the remaining greenskins and insects inside Octares..." King paused, "...Pluto will have a way."
Buz scoffed. "This doesn't sound like we're going to rescue him."
"..."
"This is indeed a very sad point."
If only Kirkland had come, perhaps Hades would have been rescued by now—but this entire star system, all the armies, and perhaps even half of the empire, would probably be gone forever.
Whether the person he rescued was the same one from before is not certain.
Chapter 580 The Mushroom Empire!
Mushrooms, mushrooms, mushrooms and mushrooms.
Hades thought they needed more green mushrooms!
Hades thought he should bask in the sun, remembering the King of Figurines's instructions, but unfortunately, he couldn't take off his armor to sunbathe in order to deceive the Greenskins.
It hurts, it hurts too much.
Aside from that, Hades is already a 500% qualified green-skinned warboss.
He can waaagh! He'll lead the boys in a fight, he'll lead the boys in starting a waaagh! He'll lead the boys in starting an even bigger waaagh! He'll waaagh with the boys!
Unfortunately, Hades could never reach that true joy—the joy he felt with the Greens—whenever he waaghed with the Greens.
Both Blake and Magnus felt that sensation to some extent, although Magnus later screamed and demanded that Hades use the Dark Domain to remove the green from their bodies.
[Assimilation—Corruption! This is a backlash!!! Quick! Hades! Help me remove this corruption—my consciousness is being corrupted!!!]
"Okay, I got it! Little Mag! Don't move! I'm here to remove the greenery!!!"
Hades roared and lunged at Magnus, who yelled and ran away, shouting for Hades to quickly remove the green psionic energy from his body as he ran.
This was the first time Hades had ever seen someone shouting "Black Domain, come quickly!" but then turning tail and running away in the opposite direction.
Finally, amidst the psionicists' desperate screams, Hades devoured the green-skinned psionic energy that was entangled around Magnus.
Magnus was utterly despondent. "I will never teach other races again..."
“Bear with it, little Mag, at most a month and a half,” Hades said, his mood improving. He beckoned Black over, and in doing so, swallowed the green-skinned aura emanating from Black.
Compared to Magnus, who was desperately trying to escape, Black, though also experiencing minor, uncontrollable convulsions, managed to stay upright thanks to his superhuman loyalty and willpower.
"Endure the hardship, persevere, and victory will be beckon us!"
Hades said that while he was trying very hard to exploit the Greenskins, Magnus, and Black, he was also trying very hard to exploit himself.
War command, logistics and infrastructure construction, additional scientific research, one-on-one training to cultivate high-value green mushrooms—Hades has begun to miss the warm bed in the Figurine King Museum.
The King of Figures, ah! The King of Figures!
Although the Greenskins usually think Hades is just lazily lounging on his throne, in reality, the intense calculations he's doing have almost driven his brain to the brink of overheating.
The only thing that brought Hades any comfort was that he had seen Black.
And, according to Magnus, things seem to be going exceptionally well on Mortarion's side—the Pale Lord has his own plans and intentions, and they have successfully helped Mortarion.
And, like a carrot dangling in front of a mule, Hades looked forward to seeing the 40-strong human empire, the bullet-capable bow, the Death Guard, and all the sons of Hades…
Hades, keep up the good work, victory is within your grasp!
If this continues, Hades fears that Black will turn around and cry to Hades.
Now, a small portion of the Octarius star system has been occupied by the Underworld Empire, and on the front lines bordering Tyrannosaurus, at least three battles are taking place simultaneously every day.
It's almost here... the final battle is almost here.
Hades realized that if war didn't break out soon, the Greenskin Empire would develop into a monopoly.
In fact, under Hades' leadership, due to the great increase in productivity and the fact that the war could not consume the excess productivity, these greens devised capitalism on their own to circulate the excess productivity.
Because he had to manage the war, and because it did indeed further promote development, Hades ignored these matters.
The greens will use their teeth as currency to buy and sell weapons, vehicles, ships, and even opportunities to become Magnus's apprentices (?), the next chance to be drafted (??), or even a day trip as a delivery boy for a mob boss (???)...
During a lull in the war, Hades, who had finally gotten a chance to catch his breath, stared at the report handed to him by the inspectorate's Blake and fell into deep thought.
Because of his limited energy, Hades firmly controlled the five departments and two groups, and set KPI requirements for each department. For example, in each battle, the War Department had to send out a certain number of green-skinned boys of a certain size.
Hades didn't really care which green-skinned brat it was.
So, some greenskins who felt they weren't waaagh enough, but who were drafted, would sell their spots and use the beast teeth to improve themselves, making themselves even more waaagh! Then, when the next war came, they would buy a spot to go to the battlefield.
Hades was deeply shocked.
Work hard, earn money, improve yourself, become even more awesome, and then go to the battlefield to be even more awesome—this is definitely the second most inspiring story Hades has ever heard.
Little Mag remains the number one inspirational story.
Sometimes, Hades would relax for a while, when the intensity of the war was not high.
He would sneak out of his palace to visit Magnus, surrounded by countless greenskins. The boss walked on the concrete road, passing by the greenskins' free trade zone, listening to the hawking of the Wow Wow Bar or the Frog Bar, and seeing free fighting arenas everywhere on the roadside—Hades was extremely pleased with the greenskins' proactive efforts to improve themselves.
Sometimes, Hades would feel momentarily disoriented, as if he had never experienced such commotion even in the human empire.
The last time he passed by Wawa Bar, he bought two bottles of green-skinned fine wine.
……
It seems there's no difference... He could also be a green one...
Hades blinked, regaining his senses.
No, although green-skinned people are happy, they must not be green-skinned.
Hades is someone who takes the policy of human supremacy to the extreme.
He pondered, could he also be affected by the green-skinned psionic energy? No, his Dark Domain showed no abnormalities.
Perhaps it's just because these greenskins are too happy, or perhaps it's because the Hades greenskins are too engrossed in their role.
Hades then wondered if, in the past tens of thousands of years, no other intelligent race had tried to impersonate the Greenskins and use them as he had.
Or did they eventually all become assimilated by the green-skinned people?
Even if they are assimilated, at least some trace will remain. Why is there not a single similar story in history?
Or is it because... apart from him, no other being has successfully fooled the greenskins?
Wait! Let me prepare myself!
Magnus's shout interrupted Hades's reverie. Hades looked at the library of the "Great Green Wizard" and felt a sense of helplessness.
"You've got quite a bit of greenskin smell on you again, little Mag."
Hades said that he watched as a well-built, robed green-skinned wizard apprentice came over, gestured for him to sit down, and took the bottle of wine from Hades' hand.
Hades decided to call this new greenskin the Mag Boy.
Magnus sighed deeply. "This is a necessary sacrifice."
Hades glanced at Magnus. "You don't seem as flustered as you were the first time."
Magnus paused, then undeniably shrugged.
[It's just a minor change... just within a reasonable and safe range. To be honest, my opinion of the Ork race has changed; they... are very malleable.]
Hades raised his hand and harvested the green-skinned aura from Magnus before he could escape.
“Prepare to part ways with your good days now, Magnus,” Hades said, gesturing for the Magnus boy to hand over the bottle. “I was going to tell you the good news—we’ll be free soon.”
With a pop, Hades opened the bottle cap. He looked at the large and tidy library, and the Magnus boys walking around inside, engrossed in their books. Hades really didn't understand where Magnus got all these books from.
“But you seem to be enjoying it,” Hades sighed, taking a sip of his drink. He vaguely heard a small popping sound coming from his mouth.
"You've been so focused on fighting and development," Magnus said, "that you've missed the entire flourishing of this green-skinned empire, Oglin! Their vitality is simply too strong."
“I feel it is necessary for me to examine your soul again, Magnus.”
Hades took another swig of wine; no problem. It seems Magnus has truly gone mad.
"You must remember that you are human."
Hades lowered his voice, making sure only the two of them could hear him, and said, enunciating each word clearly.
“I am human, you are human, and Blake is human.”
"Wrong," Magnus said, noting the dangerous aura emanating from Hades before him. "I am a fragment of humanity."
Hades immediately launched into a violent coughing fit, as if he were trying to choke himself.
"When did you become so optimistic and open-minded, little Mag?"
Ten thousand years have passed, and I am no longer the person I was back then!
Magnus said smugly, "Life now is better than it was before."
Hades handed Magnus a wine glass.
"Get ready for life to get better and better. The bugs have been retreating recently—I expect they're going to meet up with the main force."
Hades raised his glass and clinked it against Magnus, who was looking down on the green wine glass.
“We can’t decapitate them. Decapitation means the insects will scatter and flee. We have to fight them head-on. I need to give the Tyranids hope of winning—that way they won’t run away.”
Lure the enemy deep into our territory, offering a sufficiently tempting offer to make them believe they will win, thus leading the Tyranids into the very trap of this green-skinned empire.
Hades felt a sudden anxiety. No matter what the outcome of this war would be, one side would be nearly wiped out, while the other would be severely weakened.
However—he still hadn't made contact with the Empire, even though Hades had already established countless signal transmission base stations.
After this great battle ends, the army of the human empire must arrive immediately to clean up the battlefield in order to completely extinguish any hope of a resurgence of the Terrans or the Orks.
Hades sighed, finished his drink, and let out a waagh.
If all else fails, he'll kill them one by one!
Yay! That's all!
Chapter 581 The Swarm
Three battlefields.
Fugen said that the bony fingers placed the chess piece, symbolizing the grim guardian of death taking its place in the garden.
The bald-haired man stared intently at the chessboard, where faint shouts and sounds of battle could be heard, and fireworks rose into the air.
"The long battle for godhood is finally coming to an end," Fugen murmured to himself. "Our brothers are still so determined to ascend to godhood or join the ranks of demigods..."
"He just wants to kill a god," Conrad suddenly said. "Only a god can kill a god, or he can personally drag a god down from his divine position—for him, divine status is an unwanted byproduct."
