"I am Booz Bella, son of Hades, here in the name of the Empire to aid the Octarius Sector. We are now going to bomb this planet indiscriminately. Evacuate your current war zone immediately and take cover in the nearest trench."
The sound on the channel changed again, eleven, ten...
Kriptman slowly stood up. He saw a scene he would never forget: countless soldiers were retreating together, rushing towards him, each one running for their lives, their faces blackened by gunpowder and now streaked with tears.
"One, zero."
Divine punishment descended from the heavens, and Creptman's retina burst into flames.
He stumbled and fell to his knees, tears streaming down his face. Countless gasps filled the air around him as the soldiers who had managed to escape into the trenches breathed heavily.
“It’s Buz,” “Is it that person?” “By the God Emperor.”
Between breaths, soft whispers could be heard from time to time.
The judge knelt, facing the beam of light that seemed to incinerate everything.
That was the reinforcements' orbital bombardment.
Crepteman's lips twitched, then he couldn't help but laugh, crying and laughing at the same time. He was saved, saved, saved! Even if the one who came was Booz—the former regent of the empire, and Crepteman would pay for his crimes against Octares—Crepteman had not failed!
He laughed so hard he could barely breathe. The intense command over the past few days and nights had drained him of all his energy, and even medication couldn't sustain his willpower. The judge slumped backward and fell unconscious.
……
He woke up in the sweltering darkness.
A colossal mechanical beast was walking towards him, its expensive red robe trailing on the ground with a soft rustling sound.
“:) Good day, Judge Creptman,” the tall mechanical sage said slowly. He was almost a small mountain, and through the gaps in his red robe, one could glimpse countless cables and metal.
Several thick cables stretched out, tightly wrapped around something, and what was inside seemed to be struggling.
The great sage bowed and extended a limb the size of a human.
"Nice to meet you. I am Sage King-306, a member of the Hades' Sons Chapter."
Kriptman was breathing heavily, trying to keep his voice steady.
He slowly stood up and stretched out his hand.
"Kreptman, the chief judge of the Octarius Sector."
The great sage nodded.
“Judges, we wish to take over the war here, and all your troops.”
Kriptman choked up.
"You also agree that we shouldn't break through the defenses?"
Jin paused for a moment,
"This was a failed plan."
Kripman felt a sudden urge to breathe, but he forced himself to continue asking, "Then do you have a better way to exterminate these alien races?"
Jin fell silent, and ellipses flashed on the screen displaying the Great Sage's face.
“No,” King replied calmly. “Our army is insufficient to wipe out all the aliens within Octarius. Based on our current forces, our chances of victory are only 3.71%.”
Creptman opened his arms and shouted incredulously,
"Then what are you doing here?!"
"Looking for someone," Jin said, as the bound figure beside him struggled even more violently.
"And then what?!"
The judge's voice was almost shrill, "Don't tell me you're like those bastards from the Dark Angels!"
Jin fell silent. After a while, the Great Sage said, "In normal circumstances, the person we are looking for can mobilize an army strong enough to fight against the alien race, but only if he is willing to help you."
"what are you talking about?!"
The Great Sage paused. "Never mind, I don't want to talk to you, Creptman. According to the data, there is a 43.9% probability that you are a paranoid and a madman."
Jin turned his head, put down the man he had bound, and revealed a red-robed sage struggling desperately.
Unlike the other sages, this guy showed no signs of mechanical modification; he appeared to be a completely natural male with a thin, stubble-covered face, black hair, and brown eyes.
"Kirkland, go."
King calmly said this, while Kirkland began to berate King, running up to Creptman and kicking the unsuspecting Creptman to the ground.
Kirkland grabbed Crippteman by the collar and roughly lifted him up.
The sage revealed a sickly, triumphant smile.
"Listen carefully, little one,"
Kirkland's spittle landed on Kriptman's face.
“I, Phaeus’s Sage, Kirkland-582, hereby announce that Phaeus is fucking back, and we are going to fucking put Hades on the throne. You better shut your mouth and salute Hades.”
"Ah!"
Hades sneezed, rubbed his nose, and felt as if someone was cursing him.
This was truly an ominous sign. Hades hugged his arms and rubbed them. To minimize the loss of mass, he hadn't eaten much lately and was getting hungrier and colder.
Sometimes, he even experiences auditory hallucinations.
Hades, however, was unsure whether it was a hallucination or something else—whether it was someone praying to him, or the Warp cursing him, or simply that he had heard too much waaagh.
Yay, it's gone!
Chapter 579 His Offspring in the Shadow
Within the galaxy, stars slowly rotated, psionic waves surged beside Mandeville Point, and warships with cold, hard lines slowly sailed out.
Onboard the Cocurtes, in the meeting room,
“The judges have delegated authority; we have gained full freedom of movement and command of the army,” Buz said. “So, can we go directly into Euclius?”
"Of course, you little brat, we can go in anytime we want."
Boots sighed. "I mean, can we go in safely and come out unscathed?"
A massive swarm of Zerg, two powerful Greenskin factions... The only reinforcements that came this time were the Son of Hades and Faos; most of the Death Guard's forces had gone to attack the Garden.
However, it's not easy for them to request help from other legions for these matters.
"It's somewhat challenging."
The Son of Hades raised an eyebrow and stared at Kirkland in front of him. "Give me the specific data, Sage. I don't need to teach you that."
"Success rate 2.79%".
"..."
Buzz Bella fell silent, staring at Kirkland across from him, whose expression remained unchanged.
"...This is different from what you said when you responded to our call."
"I can't believe it," Boots said in a strange tone, and Kirkland burst out laughing.
“Show some respect, you brat. It was that idiot Karas who invited me here—Phos has only one goal: to bring Hades back.”
Boots stared intently at Kirkland.
“Then let me ask you another question,” he said, “assuming you don’t escape unscathed, what is the probability of rescuing Hades?”
“97.7%,” Kirkland said. “I will try to eliminate the remaining 2.3%.”
"Assuming we rescue Pluto, what are the chances of survival for me, you, Jin—and most of the people in this star system?"
"0.2%—you think the number of those bugs is a small number?!"
Booz raised his hands in a gesture of helplessness.
"Alright, we don't need to talk anymore. I unilaterally reject all your points, Sage Kirkland."
Kirkland stood up, his previous relaxed demeanor replaced by a serious stare at Buzz Bella.
"But I still recommend that you install a mechanical eye, Buz."
"roll!"
Booz shouted, "Gold!"
"Here it comes," Kim-306, who was busy coordinating the handover of the ships, walked over and skillfully struck Kirkland's neck tumor with a blunt object.
“You don’t need to talk to him,” Kim said. “You don’t speak the same language.”
Buz sighed. "I just want to talk to Faos's representative. We owe Faos too much."
Jin was efficiently cleaning up the liquid left on the ground after containing Kirkland when he heard this. Jin looked up, his screen-like head staring intently at Buz.
“You don’t owe them anything. This is their own choice. You’ve dealt with too many politicians, Buzz. Now you can’t even understand simple believers?”
Jin's appendage tapped on the window. The ships that had come from Faos were still leaping out of the warp, seemingly without end.
“If you really want to make it up to him,” Kim continued, tying Kirkland up, “you’d better get yourself a custom-made mechanical eye like an adult’s and satisfy this idiot’s perverted hobby—but you’d better hurry, we’ll find the real thing soon.”
“I am me, and he is him,” Buzz said helplessly, closing his eyes and rubbing his temples. “I am Buzz Bella.”
“Why…” Boots sighed, “Why is it that everyone who has met him is stunned the first time they see me?”
He recalled the photo he had seen and couldn't help but sigh again.
“I know, as your creator, I know the difference between you better than anyone else.”
Kim said, "But the similarity is indeed very high, and you should face that fact."
Booz spread his hands again. "Fine—I've made a fool of myself. Let's stop this topic and talk about Octarius now. Once we find him, I'll give up."
Jin slowly walked over, the mountain-like sage pressing down, the shimmering blue screen pressed right in front of Boots' face.
":)"
“I’d really like to talk to Boots about this,”
Kim said calmly, while Buz maintained a polite but awkward smile, though he was certain he was sweating profusely.
Although he is an Imperial hero, to be honest, the old Dengs in Deathguard are all incredibly difficult to deal with, not to mention the creator of the Underworld, Sage King-306.
His ability to control the empire back then was inseparable from the covert support of these monsters.
"Did Karas give you special instructions?"
Kim said, "I'm curious what he told you, Buzz?"
"After all, if we're just going to find Hades, there's no need to wake you up. We've already done enough."
Booz's smile cooled, but he was still smiling. If it were Hades here, King-306 thought, perhaps the Dark Domain had already begun to subtly threaten him.
But Buz isn't Hades; he doesn't possess the Dark Domain, only that murderous intent.
"I'm curious why you're in such a hurry to find him," Buz said in a low voice. "Can't the accumulation of ten thousand years outweigh the kindness from ten thousand years ago?"
Kim remained silent, the smiling characters on his screen flashing, reminding Booth of a communicator with a poor signal.
“It’s worth it,” Kim said. “Life and death, change and failure, the memories of every hundred years, the birth and death of generations, the responsibilities and hopes entrusted to them afterward, the hopes and entrustments that were betrayed afterward, a billion people against one person, it’s worth it, it’s completely worth it.”
"I'm sorry, but I do have my own choices."
Booz raised an eyebrow, his gaze lingering on the unconscious Kirkland. Realizing what he was asking, Kim spoke up.
"Don't worry, he's undergoing arduous training. Apart from the chip in his brain, Kirkland is now a purely natural person."
"So it seems like Karas should be looking for you?"
Buz said,
“No,” the characters on the golden screen flickered, “first, Karas has an innate aversion to mechanical sages; second, I can’t control myself.”
"I pledged my loyalty to Hades ten thousand years ago. This is my fundamental principle: loyalty cannot be betrayed."
"He was too, at least in the Death Guard, everyone who had ever seen Hades was—perhaps except for Calatraus Typhon."
"So you want me to do it?"
Buz blinked, stared intently at Kim, and confidently extended his hand.
Jin shook his head.
