Warhammer: I don't want to become a stinky can!

Why...why would the emperor do this?

The Scarlet King pondered this question painfully, feeling betrayed, deceived, and bewildered. His once confidant father had turned his back on him with coldness.

Had he really done something wrong? Magnus struggled to think, but all he had done was pursue the truth for humanity. He was willing to sacrifice everything to be humanity's fire-bringer, leading the people in the cave toward the light.

If he was wrong, it could only be that his thirst for knowledge was too persistent and too pure, which attracted the envy of those ignorant people—they didn't understand what Magnus was doing; they only knew how to sabotage and distort Magnus's lifelong pursuit.

How could he explain bacteria to primitive people, tell them that humans are made up of tiny organisms stacked together, or demonstrate electromagnetism to them, when they would only exclaim that it was blasphemous witchcraft?

If Magnus was wrong, it was because he was too kind. He always tried to teach the ignorant instead of ruthlessly eradicating them, and as a result, among these ignorant people emerged the cruel and heartless ones who would burn him at the stake.

Why—why do people push and shove each other, making judgments before a fair competition? Knowledge and progress are rooted in friendship and equality. Why can't humanity understand this simple truth?

A strange and unpredictable light shone in Magnus's eyes. The High Heaven slowly soothed him, soothed his beloved child, and Magnus took a deep breath.

If only humans were as loving as those in the Warp!

In the highest heaven, not a single emotion is concealed; knowledge and soul are laid bare. The greatest mysteries and knowledge reside there, which will be the treasure of human evolution. It should not be burned by the cruel and ignorant!

Magnus took a deep breath and buried his face in those broad, calloused hands that had read countless books—

The next moment, he saw the future.

A bright future.

He will be the one who ignites himself to protect humanity and lead it into a bright future.

【F?#! I×?】

The cold, the biting chill, burned Magnus; he knew that the overuse of psionic energy would bring frost.

Magnus trembled, consumed by intense regret and despair.

He looked up and saw incredulously the curtain behind the storm shaking violently, as an impact powerful enough to obliterate the Milky Way arose.

No—no!

Magnus didn't know why he was crying. He was an observer who had been abruptly dragged into the future, but he was now filled with anger and resentment, yet also with a great determination to sacrifice himself.

The Crimson King suddenly spread his arms wide in the cold wind, which whipped against him, and psychic lightning suddenly surged up as he shouted ancient incantations.

The entire planet cried out for him! Resonated with him! In the highest heaven, there existed benevolent souls who were also willing to sacrifice themselves, and he felt a heart-wrenching shock as they tragically marched toward their predetermined end.

Magnus was alone! No one understood him! But the goodwill of the warp bound him tightly, and he felt the pain of being torn apart.

But he was willing to endure it!

The Scarlet King stared intently at the destructive force, raising his arms high as a storm howled around him and his soul burned—he would stop it all!

He watched as a figure raced toward him through the snowstorm below—

[Magnus?! What the hell are you doing?! Get down here right now!!!]

The Crimson King gave a trembling, bitter laugh. He no longer expected his brother to understand him; he needed to save humanity and his father's fate. He had realized that he was the one to sacrifice himself.

The cold wind stopped his furious roar, and the incredulous sobs, as if betrayed, were torn apart by the wind. Magnus stared intently at the force of fate, and he uttered the final incantation—

Darkness enveloped everything.

He opened his eyes as if drowning. Magnus found himself kneeling on the ground, panting heavily. Ariman was beside him with worry. Further away, the figure of the devil suddenly appeared, hovering like a vulture, hoping to gnaw on his bones.

The Crimson King trembled as he smiled.

His destiny will not end here; he will lead people to a bright future. Everything now is nothing but a farce orchestrated by fools. His true ambition will not linger here.

He waved his hand, refusing Ahriman's help, and Magnus staggered to his feet, but looked relaxed.

He stared fearlessly at the monster behind the wall that was scrutinizing him so brazenly. Magnus would prove him right. He would triumph. The warp had already revealed the grand destiny to him. He would sacrifice himself at the last moment and become a true wise and great man.

He would save the Empire and humanity, Magnus believed it wholeheartedly.

He spoke, his voice hoarse.

The meeting can continue; I will win.

[Nicaea Theatre, Upper Level Secret Room of the Main Hall]

Vox frowned imperceptibly as a communication broke out on his channel. A huge psionic fluctuation had occurred in Qianzi's rest room, but fortunately Hades had already gone to check it out immediately.

Wolf King, Fugen, and Waldo, who had just been waiting with them in the secret room for Hauser's data report from the extraterrestrials, also hurriedly left. The Silent Sisters were also reassigned there. Vox heard the bells ringing to restart the meeting—

Most of the people here have left, but Vox still has no idea what happened.

But since Hades is there, and the Empire's strongest Soulless One is there, then Senko shouldn't run into any trouble.

Vox thought uneasily as he looked in front of him. Kim and Kirkland, who had been operating the examination equipment, were... well... lightly fighting. Hauser sat on the examination bed, staring dumbfounded at the battle between the two sages, while Bjorn the wolf watched with his arms crossed.

Vox slowly realized that perhaps he had a responsibility to stop the farce. He turned to Amon, the guard who was watching them, with a pleading look, but the guard just stood there, motionless.

"So now he's the only rational person left on the scene," Vox thought desperately, feeling the full load of ammunition in his waistband. He was still carrying out the mission of the Mortalian.

Should he say "Stop hitting me"?

"You little brat who leaks more engine oil than urine, how did you become a Great Sage?! You even changed the doctrines I wrote?!"

"XD, it's clearly because someone didn't put in the effort and was too busy figuring out what material the Saint Robe was made of that that they were ultimately abandoned by my Lord. Hades chose me in the end. By the way, Hades' armor right now is also made of Gold-306!"

"Ah, Great Sage Kirkland, you're not angry, are you? No way, no way? Sorry, I forgot I should call you Kirkland now. Call me Great Sage Kim, Kirkland. :D"

Vox watched as Kirkland charged forward with his mechanical arm, then crashed headfirst into the massive metal jungle of gold. Gold slowly devoured Kirkland like a giant worm, while a bright smile appeared on his screen.

XD

Vox doesn't deal much with the foundry. Are all the sages this active?

Bjorn yelled, "Brilliant!"

Vox felt that it should have been Galo who faced this situation, not him, and he was already starting to regret it.

Because the fight between the two sages had such a wide-ranging impact, Hauser shakily got off the examination bed, and Vox immediately stepped forward, both to protect Hauser and to prevent him from doing anything unexpected.

The only thing that pleased Vox was that Bjorn, who was enjoying the Sages' Battle, had subtly walked toward Hauser.

Behind them, the silent Imperial Guard Amon suddenly stepped forward. Had he finally decided to stop the two sages' farce? Vox breathed a sigh of relief.

It's the holidays, so I'll update more often, yay!

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival to everyone!

I've seen the first one. It seems I still need to study more. I'll find more books to read and figure out the right balance for humor.

Chapter 369 Evidence

[Outside the Thousand Children's Lounge at the Nicaea Theatre]

Hades arrived at the moment when the psychic energy was at its most chaotic.

He hoped he had arrived at the right time, or perhaps he was actually too late, because Hades could sense the abrupt halt of the psionic energy.

Hades wasn't sure if the abrupt stop was a decisive retreat or the calm before the storm—but Magnus didn't seem to be in good shape; within the Black Domain's vision, Magnus's soul seemed about to explode at any moment.

If Magnus were to truly erupt, Hades would have to compress the Dark Realm to a much closer range, close enough to engage Magnus in close combat. The projection of a psionic Primarch in the warp is much larger and brighter than that of other Primarchs.

But since the Emperor was there, Hades believed that even if Magnus suddenly attacked, the Emperor could teach Magnus what true fatherly love was.

A Thousand Sons warrior emerged from the lounge, ignoring Hades and a line of Soulless Ones standing outside the lounge with their arms crossed, and walked straight to the Imperial Guard, indicating that Magnus was ready to resume the meeting.

Hades stared at the thousand-year-old, deep in thought.

Magnus's unstable psionic energy cannot be taken as the main evidence to kill him. This kind of prophetic psionic disorder is a common trait among some prophetic psionicists, such as Sanguiles and Conrad Coz.

Hades stood there, using his extremely diluted black aura to confirm one last time that Magnus's condition had stabilized. Hades sighed, picked up the obituary, and signaled the Silent Sisters to stop working.

Magnus's condition is far too unstable... He needs to be punished, or at least monitored, if he cannot be eliminated.

However, due to the unique nature of the Thousand Sons Legion in psionic abilities, some legions that are lenient towards the think tank, as well as most of the Empire's psionicists—including those very important to the Empire such as the Star Court and the Navigator Family—are keeping a close eye on this legion. If the Emperor punishes Magnus without cause, then the cooperation between the Empire and the psionicists will probably not be very smooth in the future.

No matter how much people hate and resist psykers, they are still an important part of the Imperium. They can even be considered the only bridge for humanity to utilize the Warp.

Therefore, Hades had to at least give the emperor a legitimate reason to punish Magnus.

Hades' first thought was of Hauser, the visitor from outer space, and Amon, the Guardsman possessed by the demon Tzeentch. Did the Emperor know about this? Or did he only know the general outline and not be able to pinpoint the exact location of each raindrop?

Moreover, the story has already been disrupted to a point of chaos. Will Tzeentch really come back?

The Death Guard allowed the meeting to continue, and Hades had to frown as he followed Sister Silent and the Sages to the main hall. He had to attend, but Hades also instructed the guards to keep an eye on Hauser, and he was also trying to make contact with them.

He was told that the Wolf King and Fugen were there, although the Silent Sisters had been urgently transferred away.

But when Hades arrived at the main hall, he saw Wolf King and Fugen already back in their places. Like him, the two Primarchs needed to return to continue the meeting.

Hades frowned. The Emperor and Macado were on the high platform under the spotlight and could not communicate, so he immediately sent another team of Soulless Ones to the secret chamber where Hauser was.

But at most, it would be a minor skirmish. Even if the Imperial Guard were truly possessed, the final result would only be the Emperor punishing Magnus—something Hades could have desired.

As everyone took their seats, Hades sat silently on the throne of the Lord of the Order of Silence, his hands resting on the Blade of His Nemesis. In the hazy darkness, a crimson light stared intently at Magnus, who slowly walked onto the stage.

Magnus requested to give a speech.

Hades wondered, how should he kill him?

Perhaps... he doesn't even need Death Guard and Space Wolf to provide evidence; the noose that can truly strangle Magnus is in the hands of the Crimson King himself.

Subtle scrutinizing gazes fell upon Hades, filled with probing, curiosity, and wariness... Hades silently strengthened his dark domain, and the darkness dispelled the unexpected visitor.

[Nicaea Theatre, Upper Level Secret Room of the Main Hall]

Vox blinked, then stepped aside, watching as the Imperial Guard Amon silently walked up to the two sages.

"Silence, gentlemen. You need to maintain proper etiquette while waiting for the witnesses."

Jin smiled on the screen.

"Sorry, I'm just kidding."

Then he spat out Kirkland, and Vox seemed to hear a spit. Despite looking disheveled, Kirkland was still alive and kicking. Then the two sages began to fight—no, they began to attack each other more primarily with electronic warfare.

The two sages had nothing but the damned heretics in their eyes at that moment, as if they were oblivious to everything else.

Vox wasn't a technical sergeant; he knew nothing about it. He heard Bjorn sigh in disappointment, then watched as the Guardsman Amon led Hauser off the examination bed. The Guardsman seemed to want to help Hauser relax; the poor mortal was too tense.

"Can I speak to you alone?"

The guards spoke to Hauser, and Vox silently stepped back, positioning himself in a third corner away from the two fighting sages and the guards. Bjorn grunted rudely and went straight out the door.

The Imperial Guard, Amon, stopped, seemingly waiting for Vox to leave.

Vox was silent for a moment, and finally, he decided to obey the Imperial Guard. He silently walked out from his corner, opened the door, and saw Bjorn squatting on the ground, rubbing his feet.

Vox stared at the wolf, and the wolf bared its teeth and stared back at him. Finally, Vox silently crouched down as well.

The Imperial Guard Amon turned his gaze to the two sages, who seemed to have removed each other's sensory systems and were fighting under the second firewall. The victor would lock down the other's action system.

The guard gently shook his head, focusing his attention on Hauser.

“Hello,” he said, “what’s your name?”

Hauser scratched his head and muttered something.

“Sir, my name is Kaspelhauser.”

He heard the Imperial Guards whispering like demons.

“Names possess their own magic; my first name was Amon…”

It glided strangely across the armor of the Imperial Guards.

……

[Vox! Enemy attack!! Imperial Guard—]

Vox jumped to his feet, and Kirkland and King's alarms suddenly went off in their private channel.
