"I don't like watching these kinds of things."
"Then go to sleep."
To shut Lena up, Io threw the book at Lena's face.
"Ouch! Be gentle!"
The book was smashed open, and on the pages were a five-legged chicken, a legless horse, a nine-headed snake, and a three-legged wolf.
What a strange creature, Io thought.

Chapter 170 So I got blown up!
The light creaked weakly into the darkness. Hades stared at the lamp and thought that the Death Guard must have the most comprehensive knowledge about saving electricity by turning off the lights, second only to the Midnight Lord.
A cloudy day is perfect for sleeping. Hades started to feel sleepy not long after the apothecary Leo left. Arguing with something like Tarasin, who never gets tired, was too exhausting, so he decisively closed his eyes and went to sleep.
When he opened his eyes again, he was startled by Mortarian, who was sitting silently in the darkness.
Why didn't you wake me up?
Mortarian remained silent.
?
Hades' heart skipped a beat. He couldn't let the Death Guard be told that it had been sent again. The ominous memories of lying in the infirmary last time had caught up with him.
"What's wrong?"
Hades asked a question with trepidation.
A near-silence descended into silence, from which a hissing sound arose from behind the breathing mask.
"You're still alive."
Hades paused for a moment, then asked, "What do you mean he's still alive? Of course he's still alive."
Hades blinked. Oh, he unleashed his Dark Domain at the end, and it seems he even used a bit of the Star God's power at the very end?
Then he blacked out, and later he was picked up by the figurine king.
Hmm. So it seems that when he activated the Dark Domain, the others were also in a semi-short-term state, while the Space Necromancers were unaffected, which put the air strike team in a very dangerous situation.
Hades' heart skipped a beat again.
"How are the members of the air raid team doing?"
Motalian said slowly,
"They are all alive."
The Primarch then added, "I mean the Death Guard."
Hades naturally followed up with the next question.
"Where is the Iron Warrior?"
Mortarian fell silent.
The two fell silent again.
Hades was full of questions, but the most likely possibility was that Mortarion and Perturabo were at odds, and Mortarion might not be happy to see his warriors caring about soldiers from other legions.
"Um... I was just asking about battle losses."
Mortarian's eyes, hidden beneath his hood, were unreadable as he stared at Hades.
"So what is your hope?"
Hades blinked.
"Although I am a soldier of the Death Guard, if other Legion soldiers fighting against me suffer heavy casualties, it will also be a sign of my incompetence."
Mortarion looked away, and the Primarch said sullenly,
"Zero deaths."
Hades sensed something was off, like the calm before the storm. While Mortarion and Perturabo might not get along, Mortarion probably had no reason to discriminate against the entire Iron Warriors, right?
"You don't seem too happy to see the Iron Warriors have a zero mortality rate?"
Hades tried to probe indirectly.
"Haven't you realized what's going on yet?"
But Mortarian suddenly said in a muffled voice,
"Yes, yes, you probably don't know what happened next."
"Me? Do I care about the death toll of his Iron Warriors? Does he care about my Death Guard?"
"After you disarmed the ground-based air defenses, that bastard immediately ordered the bombing of the entire area!"
"With Death Guards still present in this area, and with the Death Guard commander still in this area!"
"Indiscriminate bombing of the entire area!"
"That bastard doesn't care about his kid because he knows his kid will dig a hole to avoid air raids."
"But he directly exposed the Death Guard in that area!"
A string of loud Barbarus curses came from Mortarion's mouth. The Primarch spoke at an unimaginable speed, and Hades had reason to believe that Mortarion had cursed like this countless times.
From heartless scoundrels to dead toads in the mud, Mortarion practically spat out every single curse word Barbarus could muster.
"They also said my tactics were too cruel? Too extreme?"
"So their so-called rational tactics are bombing friendly forces?"
Hades silently shifted his gaze to the listless lamp.
Hey, look at this lamp, it really looks like a lamp.
Ahem, no, Hades brought his thoughts back to reality. No wonder Mortarion was acting so strangely; it turns out the Death Guard was blown up on Perturabo's orders.
what? !
Hades couldn't hold back this time either. Although he knew that Perturabo was like that, it was all just a joke before. But now Perturabo was really doing it for the sake of the battle and directly backstabbed Death Guard!
Hades felt like he almost coughed up blood. He had been careless this time and had forgotten that some of the original techniques involved this move.
Let him think about this Primarch, and Fernus Manus. Horus Lupecal must make sure that the Death Guard takes charge of air defense and support on his main battlefield when he cooperates with other legions next time.
But now, Hades, seeing Mortarian still swearing, needed to calm the legion commander down—
Calm down, my foot! Hades himself was the one who got blown up by Perturabo!
He was the one who got bombed!
If it weren't for the King of Figurines, Hades would have really died there!
Hades knew he would die on some battlefield, perhaps in a battle that would go down in history, or perhaps in just a small one.
But not the kind of death caused by friendly fire!
A sense of powerlessness, mixed with anger and absurdity, surged up along the dim light, pounding against Hades as if in defiance.
Hades took a deep breath.
"Motalian?"
The Primarch's curses ceased, and Mortarion looked at Hades, his eyes also filled with anger.
"I only have one question: did you try to cut Peturabo?"
Mortarion was taken aback. In the Primarch's memory, Hades was always the one who smiled and tried to smooth things over (and was rated as the Death Guard's best-tempered one). Just now, Hades was trying to ask about the number of Iron Warriors' casualties.
But upon hearing Hades' words, Mortarian sneered, "See? Even Hades can't tolerate what Perturabo has done."
"Chopped."
Motalian said with pride and satisfaction,
"No one can harm the Death Guard without paying a bloody price."
Mortarian began to tell Hades how he had killed Perturabo.
In fact, after Mortarion first slashed Perturabo, Mortarion tried to drag Perturabo toward the duel cage, but Perturabo refused each time.
It didn't matter, though. Every time Perturabo rejected Mortarian, Mortarian would try to start a small duel with Perturabo in the Ironblood corridor, and incidentally use his incense burner to blow up the entire corridor until it was unusable for a long time.
The specially formulated poison gas permeated the entire corridor. Apart from the death shrouds equipped with special respirators and made incredibly durable, the steel warriors could only collapse with a fit of coughing.
Peturabo glared angrily at Mortarian, who returned the same cold and angry look.
"You are the worst 'brother' I have ever met."
"You take advantage of being born on a dirty agricultural planet to wantonly trample on the discipline of the empire and throw your filthy poison gas everywhere."
"The Emperor never told me that the Imperial discipline is to bomb friendly forces."
Motalianti rushed forward.
Hades listened to how Mortarian relentlessly picked on Peturabo, swallowing hard, unsure whether to laugh or cry.
According to Mortarion, he has successfully rendered three corridors of the Iron Warriors unusable.
The thought of Perturabo looking at Hades through the corrosive gas-filled corridors of his flagship made him want to laugh, but he felt that the path of cooperation between the Death Guard and the Iron Warriors had essentially come to an end.
Moreover, Mortarion and the Death Guard's reputation among other legions... if word got out...
Hades looked at Mortalian and wanted to say that Mortalian probably didn't care about the Death Guard or his own image in the other legions, but Hades, Hades still had some self-respect!
Perturabo is a terrible person, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have his own circle within the Primarch. Perturabo has a good relationship with Magnus.
This is a disaster!
Hades's Soul-Spitting Spray
But Mortarian did the right thing!
What Hades didn't know was that Mortarion's persistent actions had successfully made Perturabo realize that he had apparently ordered the bombing of a rather important Death Guard.

There will be another update tonight, wait for me to finish writing.
Chapter 171 This is your decision, Hades?
On the wasteland of 106, Hades looked into the distance. Scattered undead skeletons were piled up everywhere. In the distance, Mortarion was leading this batch of new recruits of the Death Guard, practicing on these slow-moving undead.
There was static on the communication channel. Hades initially tried adjusting the channel to listen to what the static was.
Hades discovered that the noise was all hymns from the Cult of Mechanics, and promptly blocked those channels.
After communicating with Mortalian, Hades learned that due to Mortalian's previous actions, Perturabo had blacklisted the Death Guard, and the Iron Warriors simply withdrew from a large area of their garrison, allowing the Death Guard to take over.
Hades had originally intended to contact the Iron Warriors, but after learning that Hades was still alive, Perturabo immediately ordered the Iron Warriors to block all of Death Guard's call requests.
The other party refuses to communicate with you.
The fleet of ships belonging to the Iron Warriors was already in a state of imminent retreat.
After all, the undead in space are like endless grass. Even if they are armed with high-tech weapons, without the command of the Archon and the coordination of the Underworld constructs, these undead are nothing more than scattered, moving soldiers.
But this was perfect for training new recruits. Seeing that Hades was alright, and that Perturabo no longer needed to be so annoying, Mortarian quickly led the new recruits to seize this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Hades originally planned to go on a trip to the front lines with Mortarion and drop off the grave he had arranged with the Figurine King, but under the death stare of the apothecary Leo, Hades had no choice but to watch the show from the rear, cough cough, no, wait for orders from the rear.
He wasn't the only one waiting in the rear.
Hades blinked and looked around at his side, on his left and right, Vox and Garo.
Hmm. Compared to before, Vox exudes a more mature aura.
By the way, Vox and Garo came here on their own initiative. Didn't they have work on the Endurance?
Aside from the bewildered Hades, Vox felt a deep sense of melancholy as he watched the legion commander caring for the new recruits.
Back when he was in southern Barbarossa, there wasn't much negative talk about Mortarion.
But now, after experiencing the Galapagos overtime package, Vox just wants to vomit blood.
