Chapter 393 Fierce Battle
After thousands of Orks were reduced to ashes, the charging Ork army finally came to a halt.
The surviving Orks at the very front, in particular, looked at the wall of light with lingering fear, instinctively backing away, lest they be turned to ashes like the Orks in front of them.
Riding on the fallen flying beast, the Witch-King of Angmar soared high above the army, and also paused before the towering curtain of light.
This magical barrier, erected by all the Aurors, is so powerful that even the Witch-King of Angmar cannot easily cross it.
The Witch King of Angmar hovered in front of the light barrier, seemingly unable to do anything about it.
But Director Aurora dared not underestimate them and urged everyone to be on high alert.
Sure enough, the next second, the Angmar Witch King in the sky began chanting a spell. The evil incantation echoed between heaven and earth, darkening the sky. Evil forces gathered and surrounded the Angmar Witch King, making him even more dangerous.
Immediately, countless plumes of black smoke were released from the Witch-King of Angmar, and various hideous and evil faces kept emerging from the smoke, as if countless evil spirits were lurking within them.
The billowing black smoke, filled with an ominous and cursed aura, emitted countless piercing shrieks and howls as it fiercely rushed towards the light screen.
The black smoke and the light curtain collided violently, causing ripples to spread across the light curtain. On one side, black smoke billowed, while on the other, a silver-white light curtain shone. The collision of darkness and light was clearly defined, yet they fiercely competed with each other.
The Witch-King of Angmar's attacks grew increasingly fierce, billowing black smoke relentlessly battering the light barrier, determined to shatter it.
But the Aurors were not to be trifled with. They joined forces to cast spells and continuously reinforced the light barrier. Although the light barrier was constantly rippled by the impact, it was never breached.
Just as the two sides were locked in a stalemate, the Witch-King of Angmar remained completely calm and instead revealed a mocking look in his eyes.
He raised his right hand, revealing the Ring of Power on his finger, and activated it to cast evil sorcery.
Ancient dark incantations echoed between heaven and earth, causing the world to change color and the sky to darken, as if night had fallen.
That evil voice echoed incessantly in the Aurors' ears, disturbing everyone and constantly stirring up their negative emotions.
What made the Aurors even more alarmed was that the earth seemed to be shaking, emitting a low hum.
As the earthquake intensified, a landslide occurred on the nearby Beigang Mountain, causing rocks to tumble down and soil to surge.
What made the Aurors gasp was that the landslide at Beigang Mountain exposed a mountain of corpses buried inside!
Those are the remains of soldiers who died here, some from the Kingdom of Asedan, and others from the former invaders of the Kingdom of Angmar.
When the Kingdom of Asedan was destroyed by the Kingdom of Angmar, blood flowed like rivers and corpses piled up like mountains, hence the name Dead Man's Causeway for the northern hills.
Now, these sleeping corpses have been summoned from the earth by the evil magic of the Witch King of Angmar.
The shaking of the ground was caused by the commotion caused by these corpses.
The corpses, their eye sockets burning with malevolent ghostly flames, crawled out of the ground from behind the Aurors and surged towards them in a mighty wave.
Faced with these corpses controlled by the Witch-King of Angmar, some Aurors had to change direction and deal with the charging corpses first.
The dense army of corpses, though not a major threat to the Aurors, still managed to divert half of their strength due to their sheer number.
The Witch-King of Angmar would not let such an opportunity pass him by. Taking advantage of the Aurors' distraction, he activated the Ring of Power in his hand and unleashed his most powerful dark magic attack.
The light barrier was shattered instantly, turning into fragments that gradually dissipated.
"Continue the attack! (Dark voice)"
At the command of the Witch-King of Angmar, the Orc army roared and charged once more, joining forces with the army of undead to encircle the Aurors.
Despite being surrounded by a massive army of Orks and corpses serving as cannon fodder, the Aurors showed no fear. With a wave of their wands, they killed dozens or even hundreds of enemies with a single spell.
In an instant, the area around the Aurors became a meat grinder, with Orcs and corpses being constantly destroyed by the Aurors.
The Witch-King of Angmar in the sky, however, paid no attention to this.
Because these Orcs and corpses are just cannon fodder, used specifically to deplete the Aurors' magic power.
The Witch-King of Angmar would not hesitate to do anything to exhaust the Auror's magic, even if it meant the complete annihilation of all the Orks.
Not to mention that in addition to the Orcs and the army of corpses, there are even more powerful trolls and ghouls.
The army of corpses is different from the undead. The army of corpses is just a skeleton summoned and controlled by the Witch King of Angmar using sorcery, and is used to deplete the Aurors' magic power.
Corpse demons are possessed by evil spirits. Their bodies are as hard as steel and they are extremely fast. Once scratched, they will be cursed and will turn into corpse demons if not treated in time.
Even the Aurors must be careful when encountering these corpse demons and must not let them get close.
The Aurors quickly realized the Witch-King Angmar's intentions. They watched as the Orcs, after being killed, rose again under the Witch-King Angmar's magic and attacked them.
The Aurors were forced to choose spells that could directly destroy the bones to avoid leaving corpses behind to cause further trouble.
Following the principle of "capture the king first," the Aurors, led by the Chief of the Aurors, mounted their flying brooms and joined forces to besiege the Witch-King of Angmar.
The two sides engaged in a fierce battle in the sky. As the leader of the Ringwraiths, the Witch-King of Angmar was powerful and possessed sorcery. Even when facing the siege of dozens of elite Aurors, he still held a slight advantage.
Even most of the Aurors' spells, including powerful and destructive spells like the Shattering Curse and the Explosion Curse, were useless against the Witch-King of Angmar and could not cause him any harm.
Because the Witch-king of Angmar is an evil spirit, essentially the same as a ghost, physical attacks are useless against them, and most magic has no effect on the Ringwraiths.
Only white magic of the light attribute can effectively counter the ringwraiths of the dark attribute.
The Aurors reacted quickly. Seeing that ordinary spells were useless against the Witch-King of Angmar, they cast the Patronus Charm, summoning many animal Patronus to attack the Witch-King of Angmar once again.
The appearance of the guardian deity, while unable to harm the Witch-King of Angmar, did indeed exert some pressure on him.
With guardian deities constantly disrupting the Witch-King of Angmar, and the two sides' strengths balanced, neither could gain the upper hand.
Just then, a dragon's roar came from afar.
Upon hearing the dragon's roar, the Witch-King of Angmar's expression changed, filled with apprehension.
The Aurors, however, showed excitement and joy.
"Smaug the dragon has arrived!"
He then intensified his attack, launching a more ferocious assault on the Witch King Angmar and his army.
Smaug was very fast, and in the blink of an eye he was over the battlefield.
With its massive body exceeding a thousand feet in length and wings spread, it possesses an imposing presence that blots out the sky, stirring up storms with each flap of its wings and radiating a powerful dragon's might.
Smaug let out a deafening dragon roar and swooped down towards the Orcs and the army of undead, his chest swelling and glowing red, before spewing out scorching dragonfire the next second.
The dragon flames were incredibly hot, capable of melting even the hardest steel instantly. Those Oc and Corpse Demons caught in the dragon flames were burned to ashes before they could even scream.
