Magnus trembled as he looked at Hades in despair, and slowly, very slowly began to pace clockwise along the altar.

Hades circled the magic circle once, convinced that it didn't involve any clever physical structure and that destroying it wouldn't cause the entire ship to disintegrate or anything like that.

As for the psionic side... Hades checked it over and found that failing to dispel the psionic energy would lead to an explosion.

Hades slowly walked up to Magnus. Because Magnus was firmly pinned down by the nine pillars, he could not move at all and could only struggle slightly.

Almost delirious, Magnus began to ramble incoherently, and Hades heard him swear to himself that he had never done anything wrong in Hades' presence, but that if Hades rescued him or simply let him die, Magnus would pledge his loyalty to Hades.

But most of what they said was simply and meaninglessly a cry for help and a lament.

Hades sighed, glancing back at the skeletons of the soulless ones that had enraged him, and he was ready to deliver his judgment on those ignorant souls.

As for Magnus standing before him...

Hades reassessed the situation and concluded that even if Magnus were released, with his current Dark Domain abilities, Magnus would be unable to resist him.

Moreover, Hades thought about it and realized that he had finally run into an acquaintance.

He looked at Magnus, and Hades was certain he felt some kind of sorrow and reluctance. He recalled his own unusual behavior when Magnus was mentioned, and Hades really wanted to know what had happened.

At worst, we can release it and swallow it with the Dark Domain.

This can be considered a relief for Magnus.

Magnus continued to cry for help, his despair fueled by millennia of accumulated pain. He was unwilling to give up this opportunity—Hades before him was the first outsider in thousands of years to successfully reach him.

[Save... I grant you all my wisdom...]

Magnus's fierce struggles were detected by the magic circle, and bursts of violent psionic arcs surged forth, piercing through his original body. No! He was originally just a fragment, and in another thousand years, Magnus would be completely absorbed by the magic circle and merge with it!

Do not!

He would rather go to hell, rather bow down to his enemies, than simply dissolve into a monster!

Magnus pleaded desperately, struggling, the increasingly bright arcs of psionic energy blurring his vision. He saw the dark figure slowly raise its hand—

Darkness flickers!

【save--】

Magnus's cry for help came to an abrupt halt. The moment passed very quickly, but Magnus still clearly sensed that instant. He was still shaken and collapsed to the ground, completely exhausted, panting heavily.

Cold sweat trickled down his forehead and dripped onto the dim, lifeless ground.

The magic circle that was originally shining with extremely bright light has now turned gray, the white, burning runes have turned into scorched earth, and the rising arcs of electricity have vanished in an instant like an illusion, and only a moment has passed!

Magnus stared down at the black earth beneath him. The Primarch was panting, and he even began to instinctively shrink back. Another kind of fear gripped him. No, no, no, no!

Heavy footsteps sounded, like a death knell tolling. Instinct made him scream and run away—but the nine pillars firmly nailed to the ground held him back. At the same time, Magnus used all his willpower to prevent himself from escaping.

After all, he had already made a vow to the monster in front of him!

Crack! A pillar, piercing through flesh and deeply embedded in the ground, loosened.

Don't move.

Hades spoke, pulling out the extremely long lock pillar. Hades was somewhat surprised, as he could sense that each lock pillar contained the bones of countless powerful psychics.

These people really went to great lengths to imprison a Primarch.

Once the lock pillars were pulled out, they immediately began to crumble, scattering fragments of stone from Hades' hands—one, two, three… eight.

Hades grasped the last lock post.

"Wait..." Magnus's barely audible, extremely weak voice rang out, "I will be unconscious for a period of time, approximately thirty to forty-six minutes and five seconds. During that time, the gem is my true form; you can do whatever you want with it."

"Do as I please?"

Hades's nonchalant voice came from behind.

"it is good."

The sound of the last lock pillar leaving the ground rang out, and amidst the rustling of rubble, unsurprisingly, Magnus's figure in front of Hades flickered a few times like a holographic projection with a poor signal before disappearing completely.

clatter,

A crisp sound rang out, and where Magnus had been, a stone now lay quietly. After confirming that Magnus hadn't run away and that the stone posed no threat, Hades bent down and picked up the Magnus Stone.

He examined the dull little stone. The crimson stone was rough and dull at the moment, like a pebble picked up casually from a dry riverbed.

The stone was even broken. Hades frowned. Just as he pulled out the nine pillars, Hades noticed something was wrong with Magnus in front of him.

Was the Magnus he knew really that weak?

This is too weak!

Hades was puzzled, spinning the stone in his hand. He could even feel the brokenness of Magnus. No, it couldn't be called broken. The Magnus in front of him was almost a fragment cut off by the main soul.

What exactly happened to Magnus?

Hades remained silent. Magnus would wake up soon anyway, so he thought there was no rush.

Hades looked around but couldn't find a suitable rope, so he had no choice but to leave the dark room.

He planned to interrogate the people on the floor.

Chapter 563 Interrogation

"My father,"

Blake quickly turned around and looked at Hades, who was coming up, as if he had just gone for an after-dinner walk. Hades was calm and indifferent, as if nothing had happened.

Hades blinked and beckoned to Black.

Do you have a rope?

rope?

Black paused for a moment, then began frantically searching, and finally found a small, half-finished Barbaros handkerchief he had woven himself in his ammunition pouch—still a custom that the Son of Hades had stolen from the Death Guard, a hobby class that Black had chosen: weaving.

Textiles are very popular among the sons of Hades because it is said that Hades likes tapestries woven with Makurag.

Blake picked up a green yarn end, unraveled it, and handed it to Hades.

Hades wasn't one to mince words, so he picked up the green thread that was basically woven from the Death Guardian, tied it into a small pouch, and put the Magnus Stone inside.

To be honest, the combination of Death Guard green and Magnus red has an inexplicable eerie feel to it.

Hades was not concerned about this and casually hung the stone on his waist, just like he would hang a keychain.

The Emperor's finger bone around his neck was missing, but Hades was not without a necklace; he now wore the lucky coin that Oglin's clever mind had given him.

As a thank you gift for teaching bright minds.

On the lucky coin, one side features the God Emperor and the other the Hades. For some reason, both figures have a kind of Oglin-like goofiness about them.

Hades snapped his fingers, and behind him, molten and re-solidified metal wriggled and rose to form a throne.

Hades looked at Black and gestured for the Underworld Prince to wake the two unconscious men.

--------

Mauro awoke with a sharp pain in the back of his neck.

He opened his eyes groggily, surrounded by darkness. Mauro instinctively looked up, and the scene before him instantly froze his blood.

He saw a deity seated in the darkness, his crimson light of judgment gazing thoughtfully at him.

He heard his trusted confidant Randy cursing, but Mauro heard almost nothing. In a panic, he fainted again.

Hades looked away in disappointment. How could this lord have fallen again?

Black, standing beside the two, looked at Hades with a questioning gaze, as if asking whether to awaken Mauro again. Hades shook his head slightly, guessing that this lord of the hive city didn't know anything.

Hades looked at the psionicist. Interestingly, even though Hades's dark domain had enveloped the entire ship—excluding the area where they were currently located—the psionicist was still trying his best to shout and curse.

It seemed that due to the Dark Domain, the psionicist's eyes had been burned by the chaotic disorder of his own psionic energy, and some yellowish-white viscous liquid was dripping from his eye sockets. Hades guessed that it was probably the melted eyeballs.

Even so, the psionicist continued to spew profanities.

This is not common.

Hades rested his chin on one hand and placed the other on the armrest.

Moreover, this psionicist possessed strong psionic energy, at the Alpha level, and had a faint Tzeentch aura around him, though not much.

It appears that he has only dabbled in Tzeentch's spells, but has not joined Tzeentch's side.

Hades pondered,

“I admire your courage. I’ll give you a chance to tell me the whole story.”

"Kill me! Kill me! Just kill me! You soulless scum, I've already killed three of you—Aaaaaah!"

Just as the psionicist uttered those words, Blake, standing beside him, simply raised his hand and, incidentally, his axe, smoothly chopped off half of the psionicist's left calf.

Blood and bone fragments splattered everywhere.

Hades frowned. "Next time, only move when I give the order."

Blake stood still, eyes downcast and silent.

As if hearing the screams of his enemy, the stone at Hades' waist lit up, then slowly dimmed again.

Hades took the stone off his hand and casually twirled it around.

"Maybe one more piece would be perfect," Hades thought inappropriately.

"All right,"

Hades said calmly, "Thanks to Death, I know a little about torture techniques."

The darkness around him began to surge, rising and falling like an ocean, slowly rising, climbing up to the psionicist's toes, and then to the tips of his hair that were pressed against the ground... The black tide advanced and receded, accompanied by the psionicist's screams, sometimes loud and sometimes soft.

Hades turned his head away, seemingly indifferent, no longer looking at the psionicist, lost in thought.

Finally, when Blake counted to the sixty-seventh number in his mind, the psionicist broke down.

The psionicist, limp in his own vomit and excrement, struggled and convulsed.

"Say it—I'll say anything! Take them away! Get them out of here! Ah—!"

Hades casually shifted his gaze back.

“I don’t like torturing people,” Hades said slowly, “so I hope you can finish your story in one go and don’t lie to me, otherwise… although I don’t like torturing people, it doesn’t mean I’m not good at it.”

"It's always better to die cleanly and neatly."

Hades said, “Speak.”

The psyker in front of Hades sobbed and tried to take a deep breath, but almost choked to death on his own vomit again. Black, who was next to the psyker, grabbed him and threw him onto the clean deck further ahead.

The psionicist stiffly raised his head, forcing a smile, his empty eye sockets staring at Hades. "Who are you? Are you really Hades—is the end of the psionicists coming?"

"I am Oglin the Smart One."

Hades spoke calmly, a gunshot ringing out as he spoke. Behind the psionicist, Blake slowly lowered the still-warm muzzle of his gun, a severed hand lying at Hades' feet.

Hades sighed. "It seems you still don't want to say, then—"

"I'll talk! I'll talk!!!"

The psionicist shouted quickly, a smile appearing on his face, "But—to die in front of Hades, my life will have been worthwhile, worthy of my family's bloodline."

Immediately afterward, before Blake could chop off another foot, the psionicist began recounting his family history.

Randy's family is a psionic family composed of voluntarily retired navigators, so most of the people born into this family are psionicists.

In 900.M34, while observing the warp, his ancestors discovered traces of the former psionic Primarch. For various reasons, whether it was greed or the Grey Knights' desire to silence most of the mortals who saw Magnus's traces, Randy's ancestors did not report Magnus's traces to the Imperium.

They were very lucky; when they discovered it, the Primarch was in a dormant state, drifting through the galaxy.

After decades of preparation, Randy's ancestors attempted to awaken a pure part of this fragment—the Magnus fragment imprisoned on the ship.

The ancestor realized that the Red Primarch was in a state of personality loss and memory confusion. Therefore, after gaining the Primarch's trust through a self-inflicted injury, he persuaded Magnus himself to seal away his other half of evil.

This would further tear the fragment apart, but Magnus desperately wanted to preserve his nobility and purity. Therefore, Magnus himself, together with Randy's ancestors, completed the magic circle that imprisoned another part of himself.

Magnus also assured the ancestor Randy that although he had borrowed some of the power of the warp, he could not break the magic circle on his own.

Hades was barely holding back; he could guess what would happen next with a snap of his fingers.

As expected, the psychic ancestor used the magic circle that Magnus himself had set up, using himself and most of his family as bait, to tear apart and imprison the awakened fragments of Magnus.

The other fragments, tainted with the aura of chaos, were sold by the family to an extremely distant star system.
